pyir (p. 296) s. Growing grain, a crop, herbage, shrubbery, பைங்கூழ். 2. Any useful vegetable, plant, or even tree. (c.)--The different stages of growing corn, are ஏறினபயிர், grown up corn; கதிர்ப்பயிர், corn just earing; களைபறிபயிர், that which requires to be weeded; பாற்கட்டுப்பயிர், ear being milky; நடவுபயிர். corn transplanted; முதுபயிர், ripe grain; there are also நஞ்சைப்பயிர், புஞ்சைப் பயிர், கீழ்ப்பயிர், மேற்பயிர், சிறுபயிர், &c. பயிரடித்தல்--பயிருழவு, v. noun.
