The alkaline, or salifiable base, is called ஆண்சரக்கு (masculine drug) or உப்புவிந்து (Seminal salt), and any acid which readily combines with a salifiable base is called பெண்சரக்கு (feminine drug) or புளிச்சுரோணிதம் (acidulated uterine blood), the chemical affinities being supposed to resemble the male and female properties in union throughout. Drugs, ingredients, &c., in common use. ஆடிநெருப்பிற்குநில்லாமலோடுஞ்சரக்கு, s. Minerals which, on being exposed to the action of fire, disappear; said to be the case with fictitious cinnabar, yellow sulphuret of arsenic, &c., Sixtyfour kinds are reckoned.
