koṉṟai (p. 147) s. [improp. கொன்னை.] A genus of flower trees, கடுக்கை. Cassia,L. சரக்கொன்றை, சிறுகொன்றை, செழுமலர்க்கொன் றை, திருக்கொன்றை, புலிநகக்கொன்றை, பெருங் கொன்றை, பொற்கொன்றை, மயிர்க்கொன்றை, முட் கொன்றை, are varieties of கொன்றை. See those words. கொன்றைக்காய், s. The pods of the Cassia fistula--are sold as a drug, the pulp of them is taken as an electuary for costiveness, the flowers are also used medicinally. [Ainslie vol. l. p. 66.] கோ 9. A pore of the skin at the root of each hair, as உரோமத்துவாரம். மயிர்க்காம்பெறிதல்--மயிர்க்கிளர்ச்சி-மயிர்க்கூர்ச்செறிதல்--மயிர்ச்சிலிர்ப்பு, v. noun. Rising of the hairs of the body. See உரோ மபுளகம். மயிர்க்குச்சு, s. A hair pencil, துகிலிகை. 2. As கொண்டைக்குச்சு. மயிர்க்குட்டம், s. A distemper which makes the hair fall off. மயிர்க்குட்டி, s. The caterpillar, கம் பளிப்பூச்சி.
