vāẕai (p. 386) s. Plantain tree, Musa paradisiaca--Note. Of வாழை are different varieties, இரசதாளிவாழை or commonly ரஸ்தாளி, that producing fruit of a sweet flavor; கதலிவாழை, another variety; கருவாழை, a black kind; கொட்டைவாழை, a plantain having seeds; செவ்வாழை, a red kind; பே யன்வாழை, an inferior kind, but medicinal; மொந்தன்வாழை, a large variety, ஆனைவாழை, உதிரிவாழை, மருத்துவவாழை, &c., are other varieties; பூவாழை and கானாவாழை are different plants, which see. வாழைக்கட்டை, s.
