paṭcam (p. 291) --பக்ஷம், s. Side; party; standard; kindness, sentiment; wing, &c., For the meanings in full, See பக்கம்.--In common use it means kindness, and side. உங்கள்பட்சத்தில்வந்துசேர்ந்தேன். I have come to you for an asylum, or I have joined your party. முதற்பட்சம்--உத்தமபட்சம். The first kind, the best kind. இரண்டாம்பட்சம். Of the secondary class; an inferior kind. மத்திமபட்சம்.
