Vehemence, impetuosity, forcibleness, furiousness, மூர்க்கம். 4. Rapidity, speed, haste, velocity, விரைவு. 5. Hardness, tenacity, firmness, roughness, ruggedness, கடினம். 6. Excessiveness, intensity, immoderateness, vastness, exorbitancy, flagrancy, atrocity, malignity, heinousness, desperateness, மி குதி. 7. Ferocity, savageness, furiousness, violence, கோபம். 8. Strength, powerfulness, வன்மை. 9. Cutting in language, offensiveness, satiricalness, injuriousness, குரூரம். The leading character of this word in its different meanings is intensity. (See கொடுமை.) From this word id derived the symbolic verb கடிது. (3d person sing.) It is severe, &c., with any of the meanings of கடுமை. கடிசு, v. noun. Being too perpendicular, too little bent-- as a hoe, adze, &c., to the handle, or a plough-share to the shaft, நிமிர்வு--opp. to தணிசு. கடிச்சை, s. Niggardliness, உலோ பகுணம். கடிச்சைக்காரன், s. A niggard, a penurious man. கடியது, the neuter appellative.) That which is severe. கடியமோசம், s. Imminent danger. கடியவார்த்தை, s. Hard or angry words, offensive terms or language. கடியன், s. A severe, cruel man. கடுங்கணாளர், s. Cruel, savage, barbarous persons, கொடியோர். கடுங்கண், s. Cruelty, severity, barbarousness, unmercifulness, கொடுமை. 2. [prov.] The scallop of a palmyra leaf in a கோலுபட்டை, cut too closely, ஒலைக்கண். கடுங்கருத்து, s. Abstruse idea, farfetched unnatural meaning, கடமையானக ருத்து. கடுங்காய், s. [prov.] Unripe fruit, பழாதகாய். கடுங்காய்நுங்கு, s. Palmyra fruit, the kernel or pulp of which is too far advanced to be eatable, முதிர்ந்தநுங்கு. கடுங்காய்ச்சல், s. Violent fever, மிகுசுரம். 2. v. noun. Being over-heated-as by the smith, அதிககாய்ச்சல். 3. Being dried or scorched much in the sun, வெ யிலிலதிகமாய்க்காய்தல். கடுங்காய்ச்சலாக்காய்ந்துபோயிற்று. (The corn, &c.), is all scorched (not irrecoverably) by the sun and want of water, rain, &c. கடுங்காரநீர், s. An egg, முட்டை. கடுங்காரம், s. A powerful caustic, ஓர்வகையெரிமருந்து. 2. Excessive pungency, அதிகவுறைப்பு. கடுங்காலம், s. A hard season as in drought, scarcity, &c., a season of adversity, பஞ்சகாலம். 2. A hot season, hot weather, வெப்பமானகாலம். கடுங்காற்று, s. A strong breeze, a furious wind, a tempest, அதிககாற்று. கடுங்கூர்மை, s. Being sharp, அ திககூர்மை. 2. Salt from sesamum, கடுந்தி லாலவணம். 3. Salt of sulphur, கந்தகவுப்பு. 4. Sea salt, கடலுப்பு. கடுங்கூர்மைலவணம், s. Salt from urine, அமரியுப்பு. கடுங்கோடை, s. A severe drought, முதிர்வேனில். கடுங்கோபம், s. Violent anger. கடுஞ்சினப்பூமி--கடுந்தழற்பூமி, s. Alkaline earth, lixivium, உழமண். கடுஞ்சினேகம், s. Very close friendship, too great intimacy, அதிகசினேகம். கடுஞ்சினேகங்கண்ணுக்குப்பகை. Too great intimacy is productive of evil. கடுஞ்சுண்ணத்தி, s. Alum, சீனக் காரம். கடுஞ்சூடு, s. Great heat, அதிகசூடு. கடுஞ்செட்டு, s. Unfair traffic, trading at an exorbitant profit. கடுஞ்செய்கை, s. A cruel or wicked deed, கொடியகிரியை. கடுஞ்சொல், s. A fruit in its season. பருவஞ்சொல்ல, inf. To propose measures, advise how to act. பருவநாடி, s. Time of conjunction or opposition of sun and moon. பருவந்தப்ப, inf. To pass the season. பருவப்பனை, s. The female tree of the Palmyra species. 2. The palmyra tree that bears fruit at the proper season. See பனை. பருவப்பாளை, s. The flower of the Palmyra occurring in its season. பருவமழை, s. Seasonable rain. பருவமுயற்சி, v. noun. Application in due season. (நன்.) பருவம்பார்க்க, inf. To consider or devise measures, to thing how to act. 2. To seek opportunity. பருவம்பிழைக்க, inf. The six stages of life in males, are; பாலன், a child under five years; 2. காளை, from five to sixteen; 3. குமாரன், or விடலை, sixteen to thirtytwo; 4. ஆடவன், or மன்னன், thirty-two to forty-eight; 5. மூத்தோன், or ஆடவவிருத் தன், forty-eight to sixty-four; 6. விருத் தன், above the age of sixty-four. ஆடவர்மகளிர்பருவம், 6. The six stages of males and females, are: வற்சம், infancy; 2. பாலியம், childhood; 3. யௌ வனம், adolescence; 4. கௌமாரம், manhood or womanhood; 5. விருத்தம், maturing age; 6. வார்த்தவ்வியம், senility. The divisions in the life of a female are of two kinds; 1. மகளிர்பருவம், 4. Four stages; 1. வாலை or பாலை, a girl to the age of maturity; 2. தருணி, a young woman; 3. பிரவிடை-பிரௌடை, a middle aged woman; 4. விருத்தை, an old woman. II. மகளிர்பருவம், 7. Seven stages of life in the female; 1. பேதை, from five to seven years of ages inclusive; 2. பெது ம்பை, eight to eleven; 3. மங்கை, from twelve to thirteen; 4. மடந்தை, from fourteen to nineteen; 5. அரிவை, from twenty to twenty-five; 6. தெரிவை, from twenty-six to thirty-one; 7. பேரிளம்பெ ண், from thirty-two to forty.--Note. According to the நிகண்டு, seven, and upwards, is the period for the first stage; and so on through the table. பருவத்திலேபிள்ளைபெற்றாள். To exceed, to rise above mediocrity, to excel, surpass, become satiated, தேற. முதிர்ந்தகல்வி. Mature knowledge. முதிர்ந்திருக்கிறபெண். Language above one's age, habits, or knowledge. முதிர்ந்தபுத்தி, s. Mature understanding. வாலிபத்திலேமுதிர்ந்தபுத்திகுறுகினவயசடையாள மாம். Precocity is an index of short life. முதிர்ந்திட, inf. To become of age; to be old, as முதிர. முதிர்பிறை, s. The second quarter of the increasing moon, வளர்பிறை. முதிர்வேனில், s. Season of greatest heat. See பருவம். முதிர்ச்சி, v. noun.
