The act of making urine, modesté--in reference to those who wear the string. அற்பத்தனம், s. Vileness, meanness. அற்பபுத்தி, s. Low wit, folly, silliness. அற்பமாய், adv. Meanly, basely, vilely. அற்பன், s. (pl. அற்பர்.) An inferior, low-caste or ill-bred person, a mean person. அற்பனுக்குப்பவிஷுவந்தாலத்தராத்திரியிற்குடை பிடிப்பான். If a mean person has obtained wealth, he will carry an umbrella even at midnight. 67)

oru (p. 83) adj. [changed from ஒன்று, which is the root.] Before vowels and sometimes before consonants, the உ often is dropped and the ஒ lengthened--as ஓரிலை, a leaf. In some connexions and with appropriate emphasis, it means sameness, singularity, peculiarity, specialness, celebrity, &c. ஒருகூடுமுடைந்தவனொன்பதுகூடுமுடைவான். . . . . He who has fabricated one bird's cage may fabricate nine. [prov.] ஒருகண்டசீராக, adv. In one uninterrupted course, monotonously, invariably, constantly. ஒருகண்டசீராகமழைபெய்கிறது. To do all at once, to finish the whole. ஒருகாலேயெல்லாம்வாங்க. To receive altogether. ஒருகாற்கண்டசீராயிருக்க. To be unchangeable. ஒருகாற்செய்தவனிருகாற்செய்வான். He who has done so once, may do it again. இன்னமொருகால். Again, once more. மாற்றானுமொருகாலிதஞ்சொல்லுகிறான். Even one's foe may sometimes speak to one's advantage. ஒருகிடை, v. noun. Being bedridden; confinement by sickness or grief to a recumbent posture, கிடந்தகிடை. ஒருகிடையாகக்கிடத்தல். Lying still, unable or unwilling to rise. ஒருகுடி, s. The relations of one family. ஒருகுடித்தமர், s. Persons of the same family, near relatives--commonly on the paternal side, தாயத்தார். ஒருகூட்டு, s. Love on one side not yet reciprocated, love-intrigue, கைக்கிளை. ஒருதலைதுணிதல், v. noun. [in literature.] An author's choice or decision between two different sentiments found in the writings of others, 32--உத்தியி லொன்று. ஒருதலைநோவு--ஒருதலைவலி, s. Pain on one side of the head. ஒருதலைப்பாக்கு, s. [prov.] An imperfect arecanut, defective on one side. ஒருதலைவழக்கு--ஒருதலைநியாயம், s. Partiality in giving judgment, statements, descriptions, &c., leaning to one side or party, an ex-party statement. ஒருதலைவழக்குநூலினுஞ்செம்மை. The statement made by only one party in a suit is straighter than a line; i. e. one tale is good till another is told. ஒருதன்மை, s. Being of one and the same kind, ஒருவிதம். 2. Medial soil or tract, that which is neither வன்பால் or மென் பால்; hence, maritime soil or district, நெய்தநிலம். 2. Forest soil or district முல்லைநிலம்; [ex பால், soil.] (திவா.) சமப்பட--சமமாக, inf. To be in, or become reduced to, an equilibrium--as the humours of the body or otherwise. 2. To become tranquil, even, level, &c. சமப்படுத்த, inf. To make even, to equalize, balance, poise, level, tranquillize, moderate. சமமானமனம், s. A composed mind, equanimity. (Little used.) சமமின்மை, s. Partiality, bias, want of mental equilibrium, நடுநிலையின்மை. 2. Inequality. சமமுகம், s. One of the fourteen expressions of the countenance, that of the head erect and fixed--as in contemplation, deep thought, &c., தியானிப் பதுபோற்றலையசைவின்மை. See முகம். சமம்பாவிக்க, inf. [loc.] To attempt a similar act, pursuit, &c--as a rival; to emulate, vie, எதிர்பாவிக்க. சமயுத்தம், s. An equal contest, an engagement in which neither party is victorious. சமரசம், s. Peace, tranquillity, சமா தானம்; [ex சமம், calm, et ரசம், state.] 2. Reconciliation, agreement, the act of reconciling opinions, views. &c., seemingly repugnant, சமாதானஞ்சொல்லல். 3. Equality, ஒப்பு. 4. (Rott.) Fellowship, familiarity, ஐக்கம். (c.) சமரசர், s. Companious, familiar friends. (R.) சமரதம், s. A royal car or chariot of war of the third order, that next above, அத்தரதம், and next below மாரதம். See இரதம். சமரதர், s. Warriors fighting in a சமரதம் car, defending themselves and the army equally. (பார.) சமரவி, s. [in astron.] The sun's true longitude at the middle of an eclipse, கிரகணமத்தியகாலத்துக்குச்சூரியபுடம். சமராத்திரம், s. Equinox, equal night. --Note. The word does not seem to mean the equinoctial points. (Modern.) சமரேகை, s. The equatorial circle or line, as சமசக்கரம். (Modern.) சமவிருஷ்டி--சமவிருட்டி, s. Moderate rain, மத்திபமழை; [ex விருஷ்டி, rain.] சமவிலை, s. A moderate price. சமவணி--சமவுவமை, s. [in rhet.] Similitude, simile, ஓரலங்காரம்.
