uyr (p. 63) --உயரு, கிறேன், உயர்ந்தேன், வேன், உயர, v. n. To rise, become high, tall, elevated, to grow, or rise high, வளர. 2. To rise as water; to ascend as a paper kite; to rise towards the meridian as a heavenly body, மேலெழ. 3. To become proud, vain, self-conceited, consequential, to be elated, இறுமாக்க. 4. puṉmai (p. 328) s. [in. combin. புன்.] Meanness, vileness, lowness, ஈனம். 2. Forgetfulness, oblivion, மறதி. 3. Smallness, diminutiveness, சிறுமை. 4. (சது.) A reduced, or suffering state, துன்பம். 5. Poverty, wretchedness, வறுமை; [ex புல்.] புன்காய், s. Small fruits. புன்சிரிப்பு--புன்னகை, s. A smile, smiling. (c.) புன்சிரிப்புக்கொள்ளுதல்--புன்னகை கொள்ளுதல், v. noun. Smiling. புன்செக்கர், s. Dusky evening, மாலைப் பொழுது. (p.) புன்செய், s. [vul. புஞ்சை.] Sterile fields for dry grain. See செய். புன்செய்கை, v. noun. Cultivation of the dry grains. புன்சொல், s. Low words, phraseology not honorable or dignified, அற்பவார்த் தை. (p.) புன்பயிர், s. Young tender grains, as இளம்பயிர். புன்புலால், s. Putrid flesh, இழிவாகிய ஊன். (நீதிநெறி.) புன்மரம், s. Any tubular shrub or tree, உள் வயிரமில்லாதது. புன்மாலை, s. The dusky evening, அந் திப்பொழுது. புன்முருக்கு, s. A plant, ஓர்பூடு. (R.) புன்றுளி, s. Small drops, சிறுதிவலை. புன்றொழில், s. viṉai (p. 398) s. Act, action, deed, work, தொ ழில். 2. Accumulation of moral actions, the results of deeds in former births, ஊழ். 3. An evil deed, mischief, the actions or intentions of enemies, தீவினை. 4. Design, thought, counsel, கருத்து. 5. War, போர். 6. [in gram.] A verb.--Note. Of verbs are தன்வினை, பிறவினை.முற்றுவினை, எச்சவினை, தெரிநிலை வினை, குறிப்புவினை, உடன்பாட்டுவினை or விதிவினை. மறைவினை or எதிர்மறைவினை, செய்வினை, செயப்பாட் டுவினை, செயப்படுபொருள்குன்றியவினை, செயப்படு பொருள்குன்றாதவினை; which see. அது அதிக விலைசெய்யும்போலேயிருக்கிறது. It appears that it will cause me much pain. வினைக்காலம்வருங்கால்மனைவழியுந்தெரியாது. When misfortunes come, we know not even our own house, i. e. are perplexed. [prov.] தன்வினைத்தன்னைச்சுடும்.
