Though an ape, let a wife be from one's own family. குலங்குப்பையிலே பணம்பந்தியிலே. Rank or caste is on the dung-hill, while wealth sits in state; i. e. the wealthy are honored. கோடாலிக்காம்பு குலத்துக்கீனம். The axehandle brings ruin to its race (by assisting to cut down trees)--spoken of a person who brings disgrace and ruin to his family. குலகன்மம், s. Being reduced in respectability, circumstances, &c. குலமணி, s. A genuine gem; (fig.) one of an illustrious birth. குலமிலான்--குலவீனன், s. A man of low caste. குலமுறைகிளத்த--குலஞ்செப்ப, inf. To give the genealogy of a family. குலங்கூற--குலம்பேச, inf. To twit one of low parentage. 2. To boast or talk of one's own or another's high birth. குலம்புகுந்தவன், s. One who has mingled with persons of a strange caste, a term of reproach. குலம்பெயர, inf. taṟ (p. 230) [prop. தத்.] A Sanscrit prefix in Tamil, the த் being changed to ற் before க், ச், ப். தற்காலம், s. The exact precise time of an action or occurrence, the expected time, the given time being, நிகழ்காலம். 3. Coincidence in time, அக்காலம். 4. [astron.] A given time for which calculation is made.--Note. This word is often used synonymously with தற்காலசுத்தபுடம், which see. தற்காலகிரகநிலை, s. Planetary positions at a given time. 2. The horoscope at the moment of birth. (A term used in nativities.) தற்காலசுத்தபுடம், s. The true longitude or position of a planet at a fixed time. தற்காலமத்திமம், s. The mean longitude at a given time. தற்காலவிலை, s. The price at the time. தற்காலவிலைப்படிதருவேன். I will give as the price may be at the time. தற்காலிக்க, inf. [in astron.] To determine longitude, &c., for a given time, to make a reduction in the elements of calculation of the time given or sought. தற்சணம்--தச்சணம்--தட்சணம்--த க்ஷணம், s. The very moment, not a moment intervening, உடனே. 2. The present moment, அந்தக்ஷணம். தற்சம்ம, s. Words from the Sanscrit used in Tamil, or any of the other cognate languages, without change--as கமலம், the letters of which are the same in Sanscrit and Tamil, but சக்தி in Tamil, is சக்தி in Sanscrit. The indigo plant, as yielding blue dye, as அவுரி. நீலங்கட்ட, inf. To tie up a cloth, except the borders, corners, &c., and dip it in dye, நீலந்தீர. 2. To forge a great lie, பெரும்பொய்கூற. நீலங்கட்டுப்படப்பேசுகிறான். He lies greatly as he speaks. நீலச்சால், s. A blue dye-pot, a jar used in making indigo or dyeing with indigo. நீலந்தீர--நீலந்தோய்க்க, inf. To dye or tinge with blue. நீலபாஷாணம், s. A kind of prepared arsenic. நீலபுஷ்பம், s. A plant, விஷ்ணுகரந்தை. 2. A tree, எட்டிமரம். நீலப்புகார், s. Faint blue in staining cloth. நீலப்புடவை, s. Blue cloth, காங்கு. நீலமணி, s. Sapphire, as நீலக்கல். 2. The pupil of the eye, கண்ணிற்கருமணி. நீலமெடுக்க, inf. To make blue from the Indigo plant. நீலமேனியன், s. Vishnu, விஷ்ணு. நீலம்பற்றவைக்க, inf. To fix the blue i. e. to fabricate a story; said to be necessary for a washerman that the cloths may take the color. நீலம்பாரிக்க, inf. To become bluish as the face, eyes of teeth by poisonous bites; a part hurt by a blow; or an infant by disease, &c., சரீரம்நீலநிறமாக. 2.
