avukkvukkeṉl (p. 31) v. noun. Sounding as hawking, vomiting, &c., severely and in quick succession, ஒலிக்குறிப்பு. 2. Being eager, hasty, earnest, விரைதல். (c.) அவுக்கவுக்கென்றுதின்கிறான். He eats greedily, hastily, &c. அவு்ககவுக்கென்றுவாந்திக்கிறான். He is vomiting greatly. நாய் அவுக்கவுக்கென்று விழுகிறது. The dog attacks (us) barking eagerly. அவுக்கவுக்கென்று வேலைசெய்கிறான். He works with great diligence, or with eagerness, for his pay. அவுக்கவுக்கென்றோடுகிறான், He runs about his business with great eagerness. 15)

uñcu (p. 59) s. [vul. prov.] [prop. உச்சி.] A term for calling dogs, நாயைக்கூப்பிடுமொ லிக்குறி. உஞ்சுகாட்ட, inf. To set on dogs. See உச்சி. 71)

uṉ (p. 69) --உன்னு, உன்னுகிறேன், உன் னினேன், உன்னுவேன், உன்ன, v. a. To think, consider, exercise volition, to be anxious, நினைக்க. 2. To exert force--as in rising, leaping, &c., விரைந்தெழும்ப. 3. To pull, இழுக்க. 4. [prov.] To propel a swing by the joint effort of two persons stationed on opposite sides, உந்த. குதிரையுன்னிப்பாய்ந்தது. The horse sprang and leaped. பேசவுன்னுகிறான். He is just on the point of speaking (his mouth open, the words on his tongue, &c.). ஊ, s. One of the long vowels, நெட்டுயிரெழுத்திலொன்று. 2. A termination of the gerund in poetry, வினையெச்சவிகுதி-as உண்ணூ. 3. Flesh, meat, தசை. (p.) 4. (c.) An exclamation--as of pain, ஓரொ லிக்குறிப்பு.

uloṭloṭeṉl (p. 66) --உலொட லொடென்றுகூப்பிடல், v. noun. [vul.] Making a harsh and coarse noise--a sign of great noise, ஓர்வகையொலிக்குறிப்பு. உலொடலொட்டைப்பேச்சு, s. Vain or useless prattling. உலொடலொட்டையாயிருக்க, inf. To be broken, to be vain or useless. 35)

uloṭukku (p. 66) s. Emptiness, want of solidity, வெறுமை. 2. A noise made in walking from weakness, ஒலிக்குறிப்பு. உலொடுக்குலொடுக்கென்றோடுகிறது. To make a noise in running--as when a horse gallops. உலொடுக்குவிழுந்துபோகிறது. To fall in, decay. 36)

oli (p. 83) s. Sound, noise, roar, shout, ஓசை. 2. Articulate sound, எழுத்தொலி. 3. (p.) Wind, காற்று. 4. Thunder, thunderbolt, இடி. ஒலிக்குறிப்பு, s. Words imitative of sounds, அனுகரணவோசை--as கலகலெ னல். ஒலிப்பண்பு, s. Sound regarded as a quality, ஓசைப்பண்பு. ஒலிமுகம்--ஒலிமுகவாயில், s. The outer gate of a city, fort or temple where the guard is stationed and business transacted, புறவாயில். ஒலியலந்தாதி, s. A poem, each stanza of which consists of sixteen parts termed கலை; of these four stanzas make up sixty-four distinct parts, each of which has a variation of time or recitative, ஓர்பிரபந்தம். See பிரபந்தம். ஒலியெழுத்து, s. Vocal letters or literal sounds, as distinguished from the symbol or character, ஒலிவடிவெழுத்து. 22)

kckcttl (p. 85) --கசகசவென்றிருத் தல்--கசகசெனல், v. noun. Sounding or rattling as the crumpling of fine paper, linen; the moving or rubbing of small seeds, &c., rustling, ஒலிக்குறிப்பு. கசகசவென்றுதண்ணீரூறுகிறது. The water springs up with a quick gurgling noise. கசகசென்றுநடக்கிறான். [prov.] He walks fast, making a quick rattling noise with his garments, sandals, &c. அவருக்கிப்போதுகசகசென்றுநடக்கிறகாலம். It is with him a time of prosperity. 29)

kṭkṭttl (p. 87) --கடகடெனல், v. noun. Clattering, rattling, rumbling, clicking, கடகடென்றொலித்தல். 2. Shaking, tottering, a word imitative of sound and motion, கடகடவென்றுபோதல். கடகடென்றுபாடஞ்சொன்னான். He repeated his lesson without hesitation. பல்லுக்கடகடென்றாடுகிறது. My tooth is loose. பெட்டிக்குள்ளேயாதோவொன்று கடகடென்கிறது. Something rattles in the box. கடகடென்றோட, inf. To run at a rattling rate. கடகடப்பு, v. noun. A clatter, a rattling, rumbling, a clicking, ஈரடுக்கொ லிக்குறிப்பு. 3) *

kṭmuṭeṉl (p. 87) v. noun. Wambling, as the bowels; rumbling, as the bowels, வயிறிரைதல். 2. Rattling, as any thing in a basket, &c., ஒலிக்குறிப்பு. 12)

kṭumuṭeṉl (p. 87) --கடுமொடெனல், v. noun. Sounding as the biting of some hard and dry things, ஒலிக்குறிப்பு. நாயெலும்பைக்கடுமுடென்றுகடிக்கின்றது. The dog makes a clatter in gnawing the bone. வயிறுகடுமொடென்றிரைகிறது. My bowels wamble.

kṇīrkṇīreṉl (p. 89) --கணீல்கணீ லெனல், v. noun. Ringing--as a bell, pealing, clanging--as a brazen vessel; resounding--as a rock struck by an axe, &c., ஈரடுக்கொலிக்குறிப்பு. 8)

ktkteṉl (p. 90) v. noun. Sounding as a liquid in boiling--as water flowing from a sluice, or blood issuing from a vein, &c., ஒலிக்குறிப்பு. உடம்புகதகதென்றிருக்கிறது. The body is heated. தண்ணீர்கதகதென்றிருக்கிறது. The water is bubbling through heat. 29)
