ēkāṭcri (p. 77) s. An incantation with the sacred letter ஓம், பிரணவம். 2. Divine energy, Satti, சத்தி. 3. A stanza of four lines, composed of the same consonant, combined of course with various vowels, ஓர்வகைச்செய்யுள்--as தாதிதூதோதீ துதத்தைதூ தோதாது--தூதிதூதொத்தோதுதூத்தே--தூதூதி-துத்திததுதாதேதுதித்துத்தேத்தொத்தீது--தித்தித்ததோ தித்திதி. kuṟumai (p. 132) s. Shortness; littleness, brevity, conciseness, succinetness, சுருக்கம். 2. Dwarfishness, low stature, குறுகுகை. 3. Defectiveness, imperfection, சிறுமை. 4. (fig.) Sin, evil, பாவம். A rod of two cubits long, இரண்டுமுழஅளவுகோல். குறுஞ்சிரிப்பு--குறுநகை, s. [vul. குஞ் சிரிப்பு.] A smile, simper, smirk. குறுஞ்சுனை, s. Small pools, wells, &c., in hilly regions. குறுமாக்கள், s. Children, youngesters, சிறுவர்; [ex மாக்கள், men.] குறுநிலமன்னர், s. Petty, tributary chiefs of the Kurumba people, சிற்றரசர். குறும்பொறை, s. A hill, சிறுமலை. 2. A mountain, மலை. 3. A forest, jungle, காடு. 4. (சது.) A town in a hilly tract, குறிஞ்சிநிலத்தூர். குறும்பொறைநாடன், s. A chief of a forest district. குறுநெளிப்பு, v. noun. [prov.] Affected motion of the body. குறுநொய்--குறுணல், s. Broken rice, bruised grain, grit. குறுந்தடி, s. A short stick. 2. A drum stick. குறுந்தறி, s. A stake, குறுந்தடி. 2. Blocks built in a wall to support timbers, சுவர்த்தறி. 3. The ornamental capital of a column or pillar, போதிகை. குறுங்கலி, s. A kind of lute, common in forest tracts, பாலையாழ்த்திறம். 2. A poem in which a lady reproaches her lover or husband for deserting her, ஓர் வகைச்செய்யுள். குறுங்கற்றலை, s. A fish, ஓர்மீன். குறுந்துளசி--குறுந்துழாய், s. The சிறு துளசி plant See துளசி. குறுந்தேங்காய், s. A fruit resembling a cocoanut, cast on shore from the ocean. See சிறுதேங்காய். குறுந்்தொட்டி, s. The சிறுகாஞ்சொறி plant, Hemp-leaved tragia. குறுமீன், s. The name of a fish. குறிது--குறியது, s. A short thing, a low or dwarfish creature, little used. குறியர், (plu. of குறியன்.) s. Dwarfs --opposed to நெடியர். குறுமுனி, s. A name of Agastya; lit. the dwarfish sage. குற்றுடைவாள், s. A cimeter, a short dagger for stabbing an enemy, சிறுவாள். குறுவாழ்க்கை, s. Poverty, தரித்திரம். 2. Short-lived pleasure. (p.) குறுவிசனம்--குறுவிசாரம், s. A gloomy state of mind, melancholy; calamity. குறுவிலை, s. Scarcity, சிறுவிலை. குறுவிழிவிழிக்க, inf. [com. குறுமிழி மிழிக்க.] To stare; to look intently, through anger, fear, &c. குறுவேர்வை, s. A sudden, slight perspiration through diffidence, fear, &c. குற்றேவல், s. A slight commission; a trifling job, low employment, servility, drudgery, menial service. குற்றுயிர், s. Half dead; lit. half alive, குறைப்பிராணன். 2. [in gram.] A short vowel--as அ, இ, உ, எ, and ஒ. குற்றாய்தம், s. [in gram.] A contracted sound of the letter ஃ. See ஆய்தக்குறுக்கம். குற்றிசை, s. Short metre in விருத்தம் verses--opposed to நெட்டிகை. குற்றியலிகரம், s. The letter இ, shortened in its quantity, இகரக்குறுக்கம். குற்றியலுகரம்--குற்றுகரம், s. toṭr (p. 262) கிறேன், ந்தேன், வேன், தொடர, v. a. To succeed each other reciprocally as the tree and seed, the body and its actions, and vice versa. பீசவிருட்சநியாயமாத் தொடர. 2. To proceed or succeed each other--as letters in the formation of words, &c., எழுத்துமுதலியதொடர. 3. To follow continually, to continue, இடையறாதுவர. 4. To insist, to engage with energy, முயல. 5. To follow, to attend as on a great man, to pursue, பின்செல்ல. 6. To seek, to go in quest of to apply to from day to day, தேட. 7. To follow in order, in unbroken succession, &c., தொடர்ந்துநிற்க. 8. A deed of renunciation or relinquishment, an agreement not to prosecute to law, விடுதலைப்பத்திரம். (c.) தொடரி, appel. n. A kind of thorny shrub whose fruit is edible, Rhamnus circumissus, L. A letter elided or changed in the combination of words according to the rules of permutation, தொடர்ந்துநிற்குமெழுத்து, as அவனிருந்தான், for அவன் இருந்தான், and வந்தடித்தான்--for வந்து அடித்தான். தொடர்நிலைச்செய்யுள், s. A poem in which several connected actions are related, epic poetry, ஓர்வகைச்செய்யுள். தொடர்ந்தஅன்பு, s. Continued love, (R.) தொடர்ந்தார்--தொடர்ந்தோர், appel. n. (plu.) Friends, companions, மித்திரர். தொடர்ந்துதிரிய, inf. To be constantly about with one. 2. To pursue an object with unremitted application. (c.) தொடர்நதுபழிசெய்ய, inf. To injure one without provocation. தொடர்ந்துபிடிக்க, inf. To overtake, 2. To seek diligently and find. தொடர்ந்துபேச, inf. To continue speaking. தொடர்ந்துபோக, inf. To pursue, follow after one. தொடர்ந்தேற்றி, s. [prov.] Perseverance, persistence, repetition, விடாமுயற்சி. தொடர்ச்சி, v. noun. Pursuit, continuance. (met.) effect or consequence. (Beschi.) 2. To prosecute in law, to claim, to sue. தொடர்ச்சியானகாரியம், s. An actionable matter. தொடர்ச்சியாய்ச்செய்துவர, inf. To persevere in an undertaking. தொடர்பு--தொடர்வு, v. noun. Continuance, succession, தொடர்ச்சி. 2. Series, tissue, train, range, chain, சங்கிலித்தொடர். 3. Friendship, constancy in friendship, attachment, சிநேகம். 4. Relationship, connexion by consanguinity, or affinity. உறவு. 5. Antiquity, hereditary suecession. 6. Lineal descent, பரம்பரைத்தொ டர்பு. 7. Regular succession following one another, முறைமை. 8.
