cṇppu (p. 157) s. [loc. vul.] Flax, hemp, as சணல். சணப்பநார், s. Fibres, or strings of flax. சணப்பன், s. A flax-dresser. சணப்பன்வீட்டுக்கோழிதானேவிலங்குமாட்டிக்கொ ண்டது. The hemp dresser's hen has entangled itself by scratching in the hemp-said of a person who involves himself in difficulties through his own folly. சணப்புத்திரி, s. A hempen wick or match. pūṭṭu (p. 329) கிறேன், பூட்டினேன், வேன், பூட்ட, v. c. To lock, fasten, button, hook, &c., அடைக்க. 2. To attach horses or bullocks, to a carriage; to yoke, harness, or tackle, பிணைக்க. 3.
