iṟu (p. 57) கிறது, இற்றது, ம், இற, v. n. To break, to be snapped off--as a stick, a rope; to be severed--as a limb, to be broken, lopped or cut off, be truncated, ஒடிய. 2. To perish, die, to be slain, சாவ. 3. To end, terminate, cease, become extinet, முடிவுற. 4. To decay, moulder, crumble, to be corroded; to decay--as a bone, கெட. (p.) அந்தக்குடியிற்றிறந்துபோயிற்று. That family has been reduced to indigence, and ruined. இறுமுறி, s. A discharged bond from which a piece is torn off. இறுவதஞ்சாமை, neg. v. noun. Fearlessness of loss--one of the eight qualities of a merchant, வணிகரெண்குணத் திலொன்று. இறுவரை, s. End, முடிவு. செறுநரைக்காணிற்சுமக்கவிறுவரைகாணிற்கிழக்கா ந்தலை. On seeing your foes, take them on your head (show them all attention); when the time of their departure comes, they will fall head-long of themselves. இறுவரையும்--இறுமளவும். Until death. இறுவாய், s. End, termination, இறுதி. இற்றுப்போக, inf. To be broken. இற்றுவிழ, inf. To break off and fall. குலையிற்றுவிழுந்தது. The bunch of fruit is fallen off. இறல், v. noun. Destruction, கேடு. இறுதி, s. End, termination, ending, expiration of a term, &c., முடிவு. 2. Death, perishing, extinction, சாவு. 3. Limit, bound, extent, எல்லை. உயிரிறுதியளவுங்கைவிடேன். Length, நீளம். 14. Height, உயரம். 15. An earthen ring used for the construction of a well, கிணற்றுறை. 16. Marks or symbols in numbering--as one for ten, &c., in measuring, weighing, இலக்கக்குறி. 17. A snake's poison bag, பாம்பின்விஷப்பை. 18. Bell-metal, வெண்கலம். (p.) உறையிலேயிருக்கிறார். He is at home, out of employ--a kind of burlesque. பொழுதுறையிலேவிழுந்தது. The sun is set, lit. gone to its place. உறைகாரர், s. Sheath-makers. See காரோடர். உறைகாலம், s. Life-time, வாழ் நாள். 2. The rainy season, மழைகாலம். உறைகுத்த, inf. kpprai (p. 94) s. The vessel of a religious mendicant for receiving alms, a beggar's porringer, இரப்போர்கலம். கப்பரையிலேகல்லுவிழுந்தது. The livelihood is lost. கப்பரையேந்த, inf. To go begging with a vessel in the hand. 23)

klīreṉ (p. 96) --கலீர்கலீரென, inf. To sound as small bells, &c.--as a brass vessel, a key struck in falling; to clink, sound as a bald head when struck, ஒலிக் குறிப்பு. கலீரெனவிழுந்தது. It fell with a clinking noise. மணிகலீர்கலீரெனவொலித்தது. The bells tinkled. 261)

cṭuttm (p. 157) s. [vul.] Rivalry, competition, போராட்டம். 2. Compulsion, force in extorting money, exacting payment, &c., urgency in borrowing, soliciting, teasing, &c., தொந்தரவுபண்ணுகை. (c.) சடுத்தத்திலேவந்துவிழுந்தது. The matter is in dispute. சடுத்தக்காரன், s. One very urgent, a compeller, an obstinate fellow. சடுத்தஞ்செய்ய--சடுத்தம்பண்ண, inf. To compel, urge. 2. To compete, vie, rival. சடுத்தமாயிருக்க, inf. To counteract each other, as competitors. சடுத்தத்திலேவிற்றுப்போட, inf. To sell to the highest bidder. (R.) சடுத்தமாய்வாங்க, inf. tkkuppokkeṉl (p. 221) v. noun. Tottering as children or old persons. 2. Walking heavily, ஒலிக்குறிப்பு. (c.) அவனுக்குத்தக்குப்பொக்கென்றுவிழுந்தது. He had a good threshing. 11)

tkkai (p. 221) s. A plug or roll put into a perforation of the ear to enlarge it, குதம் பை. 2. [prov.] A roll of cloth or paper used instead of a cork, அடைக்குந்தக்கை. (c.) 3. A float, a raft, தெப்பம். 4. A kind of drum, பம்பை. 5. A drum in general, பலவாத்தியம். இரத்தக்கட்டிதக்கைதக்கையாய்விழுந்தது, The blood fell in congealed masses. [prov.] தக்கைவைக்க--தக்கைபோட, inf. To put a plug into the hole made in the ear to widen it. கெட்டித்தக்கை, s. The soft wood of Esehynomene. See கெட்டி. 14)

teyvikam (p. 256) --தெய்வீகம், s. That which is divine, which appertains to God, திவ்வியம், (Sa. Daivika.) 2. Divine affairs, events, injunctions, divine providence, தெய்வச்செயல். 3. Transcendence, magnificence, super-eminence, as an august or splendid scene, மகிமை. 4. [vul.] Chance, தற்செயல். இராசீகதெய்வீகம், s. Earthly or divine power. See under இராசன். இராசீகதெய்வீகம்எப்படியோதெரியாது. How it will be, we cannot tell. தெய்வீகத்தாற்பிழைத்தேன். I providentially escaped. தெய்வீகமாய்மண்டபம்இடிந்துஅவன்தலைமேல் விழுந்தது. By chance the pavilion fell upon his head--Note. This form is used for chance, but implies a divine providence. தெய்வீகமானார். He has obtained likeness to God, is beatified. தெய்வீகபுருஷன், s. pṭpṭeṉl (p. 291) . noun. Throbbing, quivering, &c., மனதடித்தல். 2. Speaking with precipitation, through fear, anger, &c., துடித்துப்பேசல். 3. Shaking, quaking, tottering, &c., அசைதல். 4. Bursting, shivering, breaking, falling with a rattling noise வெடித்தல். 5. Hurrying, as one preparing for a journey, தீவரித்தல். (c.) படபடென்றுபேசினான். He spoke hastily. படபடென்றுவீடுவிழுந்தது. The house fell with a rattling noise. உதடுபடபடென்றுதுடிக்கிறது. The lips quiver greatly. கண்படபடென்றுதுடித்தது. The eye quivered rapidly. கயிறுபடபடென்றுதெறித்தது. The cord burst suddenly with a snapping noise. எனக்குஉடம்புபடபடென்றுவருகிறது. I am entirely exhausted. கூதிர்படபடென்றுஅடிக்கிறது. The cold mekes one quake. 35) *

paṭāntaram (p. 291) s. A gross lie, a false story, a fabrication, கோள். 2. Coloring, exaggeration, கட்டுக்கதை; sometimes பீடாந் திரம்; [ex படு, Sa. particle denoting intensity.] (c.) படாந்தரமாய்வந்துவிழுந்தது......It happened without cause. படாந்தரக்காரன், s. A gross liar, a fabricator. படாந்தரமடிக்க--படாந்தரம்போட, inf. To speak downright lies. படாந்தரமானகதை, s. A false story. 2. An exaggerated account, a mis-statement. 57) *

pḷīriṭutl (p. 303) --பளீரெனல், v. noun. As பளிச்செனல். 2. Sounding as falling glass, &c., cracking, ஒலிக்குறிப்பு; also as பளீர்பளீரெனல், reiterated to express vehemence. பளீரென்றுவிழுதல், v. noun. Falling with a clanging noise. பளீரென்றுவிழுதல், v. noun. Falling with a clanging noise. பளீர்பளீரென்றுவிழுந்தது, It came down with a crack; used in reference to a whip. 19)

An inanimate consonant, மெய்யெழுத்து. 8. The letter written ஃ, ஆய்தப்புள்ளி. 9. (fig.) A large sum, பெருந்தொகை. 1. (சது.) A lizard, பல்லி. 11. A crab, நண்டு. கண்ணிலேபுள்ளிவிழுந்தது. A speck is grown in the eye. (R.) புள்ளிக்கணக்கு, s. Method adopted by tradesmen in marking cloth. 2. Practical arithmetic, ciphering. புள்ளிக்கணக்கன், s. One versed in the practical arithmetic of tradesmen. See பள்ளிக்கணக்கன். புள்ளிக்காரன், s. A rich man, as one of so many thousand ciphers added to a given number, பணக்காரன். 2. An accountant, கணக்கன். புள்ளிக்கால், s. See under கால். புள்ளிபாய, inf. To become spotted, or speckled. புள்ளிபார்க்க, inf. To value the produce of a field, &c. (Govt. usage.) 2. mṭmṭ (p. 339) க்கிறது, த்தது, க்கும், க்க, v. n. To sound as water running, or being swallowed; to gurgle; to sound as stiff cloth, to rattle as a carriage, ஒலிக்குறிப்பு. மடமடப்பு, v. noun. Gurgling, purling or rattling. மடமடெனல், v. noun. Gurgling, as water; rattling, rustling, ஒலிக்குறிப்பு. 2. Being done in haste or with despatch, விரைதல். மடமடென்றுவிழுந்தது. It fell with a rattling noise. மடமடென்றுகுடிக்கிறது. Drinking with a gurgling noise. மடமடென்றுதண்ணீர்பாய்கிறது. The water is flowing gurglingly. மடமடென்றுவந்தான். He came furiously. 76) *

vllūṟu (p. 379) --வல்லூற்றுக்குருவி, s. A bird of prey,a hawk, a falcon, இராசாளி. வல்லுறடிக்கமடையான்விழுந்ததுபோலநீவிழுவாய்...... Thou shalt be as a stupid stork struck down by a hawk. (a curse.) 5)
