cārāyam (p. 178) s. Spirituous liquors, arrack, வெறிகொள்ளுமோர்பானம்; [ex Sa. Kshara or Sara.] (c.) சாராயங்கொடுத்துப் பூராயமறி. Give a person a draught of arrack, and you can elicit the hidden emotions of his heart. சாராயக்காரன், s. An arrack-seller. சாராயக்கடை, s. An arrack-shop. சாராயக்குத்தகை, s. Arrack-rent. சாராயப்பாவாலை, s. [loc.] A vessel for receiving distilled spirits, வடிபானை. சாராயவெறி, s. Intoxication, inebriation, &c., by drinking arrack. சாராயக்கிடங்கு, s. [prov.] An arrack tavern. See கிடங்கு. (c.) சாராயங்கட்ட--சாராயங்காய்ச்ச, inf. To distil arrack. அரிசிச்சாராயம், s. Arrack from rice and jaggery. கள்ளுச்சாராயம், s. mt (p. 341) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. n. To rejoice, to be delighted, செருக்க. 2. to be luxuriant or fruitful; to grow fat; to be wanton, or lascivious, கொழுக்க. 3. To be furious-whether by lust, fanaticism or inebriation, மயங்க. 4. To be intoxicated, வெறிக்க; [from Sa. Mada, v.] அவன்மதத்துப்போய்த்திரிகிறான். He is infuriated by lust. மதத்தகண், s. A large, wanton eye-commonly of a female. மதத்தநோக்கு--மதத்தபார்வை, v. noun. Wanton, lascivious, amorous looks. மதத்தவள், s. [high dial. வாணினி.] A meretricious or immodest woman. மதத்துப்போக, inf. To become rank or luxuriant. 2. As மதமெடுக்க. மதத்தல்--மதப்பு, v. noun. Being exhilerated, களித்தல். 2. Being fat, wanton, voluptuous, செருக்குதல். 3. Being drunk or mad from liquor, or anger; growing violent. வெறிக்குணம், s. An angry temper, கோபக்குணம். வெறியன், s. A drunkard; a mad man. வெறியாட, inf. To be drunk, to act like a drunken person. 2. To shake and gesticulate as though possessed, through incantations. வெறியாட்டு, v. noun. The agitation, and shaking, &c., of one possessed, சன் னதம். வெறியாட்டாளர், s. Bacchanalian dancers, தேவர்க்காடுவோர். வெறியோட, inf. To be in despair, as one who has lost a very dear friend, நம்பிக்கையற. 2. To become empty, as a house by the death of its inhabitants, வெறுமையாக. 3. To be overcome as by the sight of excessive brilliancy, திகைக்க. மின்னாருங்கண்கள்வெறியோடிவிட்டனவே...... It is a time of dearth. வெறிக்கவுஞ்சினக்கவும்பார்க்கிறான். He looks furious. மரம்வெறித்துக்கிடக்கிறது. The tree has been lopped. (R.) வெறிக்கப்பார்க்க, inf. To stare at one as terrified. வெறித்தகாலம்--வெறிப்புக்காலம், s. A time of famine. வெறித்தநாய், s. A mad dog. 2.
