Being drunk or mad from liquor, or anger; growing violent. வெறிக்குணம், s. An angry temper, கோபக்குணம். வெறியன், s. A drunkard; a mad man. வெறியாட, inf. To be drunk, to act like a drunken person. 2. To shake and gesticulate as though possessed, through incantations. வெறியாட்டு, v. noun. The agitation, and shaking, &c., of one possessed, சன் னதம். வெறியாட்டாளர், s. Bacchanalian dancers, தேவர்க்காடுவோர். வெறியோட, inf. To be in despair, as one who has lost a very dear friend, நம்பிக்கையற. 2. To become empty, as a house by the death of its inhabitants, வெறுமையாக. 3. To be overcome as by the sight of excessive brilliancy, திகைக்க. மின்னாருங்கண்கள்வெறியோடிவிட்டனவே...... To become lonely, solitary--as a palace, or a king's court in his absence, வெறுமையாக. (c.) அவனுக்குவெறித்தது. He is intoxicated. காலம்வெறித்துக்கிடக்கிறது. It is a time of dearth. வெறிக்கவுஞ்சினக்கவும்பார்க்கிறான். He looks furious. மரம்வெறித்துக்கிடக்கிறது. The tree has been lopped. (R.) வெறிக்கப்பார்க்க, inf. To stare at one as terrified. வெறித்தகாலம்--வெறிப்புக்காலம், s. A time of famine. வெறித்தநாய், s. A mad dog. 2.
