tērṉ (p. 259) --தேரையன், s. A poet celebrated for his superior knowledge of medicine. He was one of the disciples of Agastya. All his works have perished except a treatise on medicine, சிகாமணி வெண்பா; on pulsation, நாடிக்கொத்து; and on hygiene, நோயணுகரவிதி, ஆயுள்வேகமுணர்ந்த ஓர் வைத்தியன். 9)

vivēkam (p. 398) s. Cleverness, ingenuity, discrimination, penetration, judgment, புத்தி. 2. The faculty, of distinguishing things by their properties; the power of separating Brahma, or invisible spirit, from the visible world, truth from untruth, error for illusion, பகுத்தறிவு.
