vēṇṭu (p. 402) கிறேன், வேண்டினேன், வேன், வேண்ட, v. a. To beg, entreat, beseech, மன்றாட. 2. To approve, to like, விரும்ப. 3. To want, to need--Note. In this latter sense it is principally a defective or impersonal verb. It is conjugated, as வேண் டுகிறது. it is necessary; வேண்டிற்று, was necessary; வேண்டும், com. வேணும், will be necessary; negative, வேண்டாம், com. வே ணாம்; rela. part. வேண்டுகிற, வேண்டிய, வே ண்டின. எனக்கதுவேணும். I want it. நீசீக்கிரமாய்வரவேணும். You must come in haste. உனக்கென்னவேண்டும். What do you want? அவன்உனக்கென்னவேணும். What relation does he bear to you? வேண்டாது--வேண்டாதே--வேண்டா மல். Not wanting. வேண்டாதுபோனான். He went away displeased. வேண்டாத்தலையன், s. An abrupt man. வேண்டாமை, s. Aversion, dislike. வேண்டார், appel. n. Foes, பகைவர். வேண்டாவெறுப்பு, v. noun.
