arcu (p. 23) --அரசமரம், s. A tree-the Ficus religiosa, Peepul, or poplarleaved fig-tree--forming one of the nine kinds of wood used in burnt offerings, ஓர்மரம். (See சமித்து.) Its seed is used for medicinal purposes. அரசாணிக்கால், s. A bough of this tree, which together with others from the கலியாணமுருக்கு, (or erythrina,) &c. is fixed between two of the interior posts of the marriage pandal, round which the parties pass, performing particular ceremonies. அரசிலை, s. The leaves of the அரசு. 2. The figure of a leaf as branded on beasts, &c., அரசிலைக்குறி. அரசிலைத்தூக்கம்--அரசிலைத்தொங் கல், s. Hangings, resembling the அரசு leaves. கொடியரசு, s.
