சமயம்
camayam (p. 162) s. A convenient, suitable or proper time; leisure, convenience, opportunity, தருணம். 2. Time, season, occasion, juncture of time; emergency, extremity, காலம். 3. Any religious persuasion, faith or system, மார்க்கம். (c.) W. p. 894. SAMAYA. --Note.. There are twelve principal religious systems, of which six are approved and six rejected by the Saiva sect. 1. உட் சமையம், or the six systems considered orthodox by the Saivas are. 1. வைரவம், making Bhairava supreme. 2. வாமம், regarding the female principle in nature, as the primeval form of deity, and teaching the worship of the generative female organ. 3. காளாமுகம், similar to the வாமம். 4. மாவிரதம், teaching that the deity is a pure spirit. 5. பாசுபதம், similar to மாவிரதம். 6. சைவம், Saivism, which teaches that the deity is both spirit and matter; assuming forms for accomplishing his purposes. II. புறச்சமயம், or the six heterodox systems; viz.:-- 1. உலகாயதம். A species of Atheism regarding sensual gratifications as the chief good, as taught by the atheistical school of Charvaka. 2. புத் தம். Bhuddism, which rejects the notion of a Supreme being, maintains that all material existences proceed from a fortuitous combination of the four primitive elements, (earth, water, fire, and air,) and that mental phenomena are the mere results of organization. It regards Bhudd as a deified teacher and object of worship. 3. சமணம். The Jaina system which is a modification of Bhuddism, and regards Argha as the deified preceptor and object of worship. 4. மீமாஞ்சை. A system that regards Brahm as the soul of the universe. 5. பாஞ்சாரத்திரம். A system taught by Vishnu, during five successive nights. 6. பாட்டாசாரியம். The system of Battacharya whose followers regard the Vedas as god, and consider that virtuous actions of themselves result in felicity. III. Other systems derived from these twelve or in some respects similar to them are very numerous, some of them are கபாலம், சவுத்திராந்திகம், யோகசாரணம், ஆத்துமிகம், வைபாடிகம், நிகண்டவா தம், நையாயிகம், வைசேஷிகம், பதஞ்சலியம், சாங்கியம், சித்தாந்தம், வேதாந்தம், &c. The six orthodox systems among the Vaishnuvas are 1. யாதவம், that of Yádava Misra. 2. மாயாவாதம், that by Sankarachárya. 3. இரணியகர்ப்பம், that by Hiranyagarbha. 4. இராமானுசீயம், that by Rámánuja. 5. பாஸ்கரம், that by Bhaskara. 6. தத்துவவாதம், that by Mádhavácharya. சமயகருமம், s. Rites and duties of religion, மார்க்காசாரம். சமயகாரியம், s. Questions, matters, &c., of theology; religious concerns, subjects, &c. சமயக்கட்டு, s. Religious obligation. See கட்டு. சமயக்கொள்கை--சமயக்கோட்பாடு, s. Religious opinions, tenets, &c. சமயசாத்திரம், s. The theology of a sect. 2. Religious writings or shastras. சமயதீட்சை, s. The ceremony of initiating a disciple in the mantras, &c., peculiar to the sect. See தீட்சை. சமயத்தார், s. The followers of a religious system. சமயங்கடக்க, inf. To transcend all religions--as the supreme being. (p.) சமயநிந்தை, s. Scoffing at religion, profaneness, blasphemy, &c. சமயநிலை, s. The commands, tenets of a religion. 2. Religion as observed, believed, practised, &c., by its professors. சமயநூல், s. The religious writings of a sect. சமயப்பற்று, v. noun. Attachment to a religion. சமயபத்தி, s. One of another religion. சமயப்போலி, s. A spurious system of religion. (p.) சமயப்போக்கு, v. noun. The substance, scope, &c., of a religion. (Little used.) சமயமதம், s. Bigotry, enthusiasm, conceit in religion. சமயமதங்கொண்டாட, inf. To be enthusiastic, to act the bigot. சமயமானம், s. A natural regard to one's own religion. (c.) 2. (Rott.) Constancy or firmness in a religion. சந்நியாசிக்குஞ் சாதிமானஞ் சமயமானம்விடாது.... The ascetic who has relinquished every thing will not relinquish his caste or sect. சமயவாதம், s. Religious controversy. சமயவாதி, s. A disputant for religion. 2. A professor of religion. சமயாசாரம், s. The rites and ceremonies, of a religion according to a prescribed institute. 2. Religious practice, observance of rites. (c.) சமயாதீதன், s. The supreme Being-as transcending all religions, சமயங்கடந்த கடவுள். (p.) சமயி, s. [com. சமயத்தான்.] A religionist, a sectarian, the follower of any religion, sect, &c., a sectary. (p.) சமயமாயிருக்கையில், [adverbially.] At a particular juncture, in an emergency. சமயங்கடத்த, inf. [prov.] To while away time, to loiter. சமயங்கிடைக்க, inf. To obtain an opportunity. (c.) சமயங்கெட்டவேளை, s. An unseasonable time. (Limited usage.) சமயத்துக்குதவ, inf. To help in an emergency. சமயம்பார்க்க--சமயந்தேட, inf. To watch an opportunity. சமயாசமயம், s. Urgent or pressing occasion, unfavorable opportunity. (c.) தற்சமயம், s. The very juncture or moment. 2. A special opportunity. நற்சமயம், s. A good opportunity. சமயந்தப்பிவந்தான். He came unseasonably. சமயத்திலே கையைவிரித்தான். He refrained from helping in time of need. 2) *

cāttiram (p. 176) --சாஸ்திரம், s. Scripture, written works on science, philosophy, &c., கலைநூல். 2. Astrology, astronomy, சோதிடம். 3. Any of the mystical science for ascertaining and predicting future events, அதி நூல். 4. Divination, sooth-saying, prognostication by any of the mysterious arts, ஆரூடம். 5. Religious or other institutes as laid down in writings and considered, of divine origin or authority, including the Vedas, Agamas, Puranas, incantations, works on medicine, mathematics, law, mechanics, erotics, &c., வேதாகமமுதலி யன. 6. Any of the systems of philosophical theology--as the Sidhanta, the Vedanta, the Potanta, &c., வேதாங்கம். 7. Religious, ceremonial, or other rules, laws, precepts, &c., as laid down in the sacred writings, விதிப்பிரமாணம். W. p. 841. S'ASTRA.--Note. The three சாத்திரம் or systems of philosophical religion; are. 1. சாங்கியம், the Sankhya system, the founder of which was Kapila, maintaining that perfect bliss consists in the entire subjection of the three gunas, which proceeded from the threefold origin of the eternal, unoriginated Maya; 2. பாதஞ்சலியம், the Yoga philosophy, as taught by Pathanjali, distinguished from the ceremonial; 3. வே தாந்தம், the theological portion of the Vedas as contained in the Upanishads. The founder of this last school was Vyasa, and its most celebrated supporter was Sankaracharya. It makes the divine being the the soul of the Universe, and is a system of Pantheism. See வேதாந்தம். The six சாஸ்திரம் or philosophical systems are; 1. வேதாந்தம், theology, as the highest knowledge. (See above); 2. வைசே ஷிகம், the Vaiseshika doctrine, morality, or ethics, a branch of the Nyaya or logical school instituted by Kanada; 3. பாட் டம், the system of Bhatta'charya, in an epic poem containing narrations; 4. பிர பாகரம், ceremonial law; 5. பூருவமீமாஞ்சை, antiquity or works and actions of old times, elucidating the Karma-kanda of the Vedas, originating with the Muni Jaimini; 6. உத்தரமீமாஞ்சை, logic, the same as the Vedanta, founded on the Gnana-kanda, or theological portion of the Vedas, and treating of God as the soul of the Universe. It is ascribed to Vyasa. சாத்திரத்துக்குக் கொஞ்சங் கூட்டிக்கொள். Take a morsel for form's sake, (lit.) in order to conform to the shastra. சாத்திரக்காரன், s. An astrologer, a diviner, a soothsayer. 2. The author of a shastra, ஆக்கியோன். சாத்திரங்கேட்க, inf. To consult an astrologer or other diviner. சாஸ்திரக்கியன், s. A man of science, a learned man, a pundit, பண்டிதன். (R.) சாத்திரசாலை, s. A college. (R.) சாத்திரசித்தம், s. Sentiment, meaning, doctrine, &c., maintained in a shastra, நூலினாலுறுதிப்பட்டது. (p.) சாத்திரஞ்சொல்ல, inf. To foretell, prognosticate by astrology, augury, &c., to divine. 2. To assert authoritatively as the shastras, தீர்ப்பாயுரைக்க. சாத்திரதீட்சை--சாத்திரதீக்கை, s. Written instruction, the scriptures as one of the modes of enlightening the mind of a disciple. See தீட்சை. சாத்திரமுறை--சாத்திரவிதி, s. The precepts, injunctions, &c., of the shastras. சாத்திரம்பார்க்க, inf. To consult astrology, &c., at the birth of a child, for the site of a house, an undertaking, &c. சாத்திரம்பண்ண--சாத்திரஞ்செய்ய, inf. To make religious ceremonies prescribed in the shastras. சாத்திரி--சாத்திரவாதி, s. [com. சாஸ்திரி.] An astrologer, a soothsayer, a diviner, a prognosticator. 2. A doctor of Sanscrit literature. 35) *

Terminating of the guilt of brahmanicide. பிரமகபாலம், s. The skull of the upper of fifth head of Brahma, plucked off by Siva, in the form of Bhairava, for pride; and worn by Siva as a part of his garland, or carried in his hand when begging, பிரமன்றலைஓடு. பிரமகற்பம், s. The age of Brahma. See கற்பம். பிரமகன்னிகை, s. A female of the Brahman caste, பிராமணப்பெண். 2. Sarasvati, சரஸ்வதி. பிரமகாதகன், s. Murderer of a brahman, பிராமணக்கொலைபாதகன். பிரமகாயத்திரி, s. The sacred incantation repeated by the brahmans, in their daily worship. See under காயத்திரி. பிரமகிரந்தி, s. Tying together, two stems of sacrificial grass in representation of the sexual union of Siva and Sakti, in the pujah or worship of the கிரி யைக்காரன், ஓர்முடிச்சு; [ex கிரந்தி, knot.] பிரமகுலம், s. The Brahman caste. பிரமகைவர்த்தம், s. One of the eighteen Puranas, in which the sun is regarded as the Supreme Being. See புராணம். (சது.) --The description in the Sans. Dict. is different. பிரமக்கியானம், s. As பிரமஞானம். பிரமக்கியானி, s. See பிரமஞானி. பிரமசடங்கம், s. Touching six members of the body, while repeating the five lettered incantation appropriated to the five faces of Siva, as representing the five operative dcities, ஆறங்கத்தோடு செய்யுஞ்செபம். பிரமசரியம்--பிரமசாரித்துவம், s. The order, condition or religious practice of the Brahmachari or religious unmarried student, நான்கு நிலையினொன்று. பிரமசரியமனுட்டிக்க, inf. To commence the practice of a religious student, commonly about the sixteenth year. பிரமசாபாலம், s. One of the thirty-two Upanishads, உபநிடதமுப்பத்திரண்டினொன்று. பிரமசாரி, s. The religious bachelorstudent, the first of the four orders prescribed for the brahmanical tribe. See ஆச்சிரமம். 2. Bishma, a son of king சந்தனு. பிரமசாரிசந்நியாசி, s. One who passes from the student to the ascetic or fourth order, without passing through the intermediate stages, பிரமசரியத்தினின்றுஞ்சன் னியாசியாச்சிரமத்திற்புகுந்தோன். பிரமசித்தி, s. Success, in acquiring a knowledge of the deity. பிரமசூத்திரம், s. A thread or cord consisting of three threads worn by brahmans, புரிநூல். 2. The name of a treatise, ஓர்நூல். பிரமசைதன்னியம், s. The original or first cause, God, கடவுள். பிரமஞானம், s. Experimental knowledge of the deity. 2. Regarding every thing as god. பிரமஞானி, s. One who has made great attainments in the knowledge of God, so as to become one with Him, பரமஞானி. பிரமதண்டம், s. A stick to support the chin, used by brahmans, in meditation. பிரமதண்டு, s. A stick used by devotees or yogis, யோகதண்டம். 2. See பிரமம், giddiness. பிரமதத்துவம், s. True knowledge of the Supreme deity, மெய்ஞ்ஞானம். பிரமதாயம், s. What is allowed to brahmans, or held free by them. பிரமதானம்--பிரமஸ்தானம், s. The inmost recess in a temple where the chief idol is placed, as கர்ப்பக்கிரகம். பிரமதேவன், s. The god Brahma, the Creator or Evolver of worlds. பிரமத்துவம், s. The divine nature, கட வுட்டன்மை. பிரமநிருவாணம், s. Union with the deity, கடவுளுடனொன்றுகை. பிரமபதம்--பிரமபதவி, s. The world of Brahma, an inferior state of bliss. பிரமபுத்திரம், s. The river, Brahmaputra, ஓர்நதி. பிரமபுத்திரி, s. The Sarasvati river, சரஸ்வதியாறு. 2. The goddess Sarasvati, சரஸ்வதி. பிரமபுரம், s. Seehali, a town in Southern India on the northern bank of the Cavery, சீகாழி. பிரமபுராணம், s. Puranas which teach that Brahma is the chief deity. In the celebrated eighteen there are two of this class. the பிரமம், and the பதுமம். (சது.) பிரமப்பிரளயம், s. The deluge at the end of the life of Brahma, பிரமனாயுள்முடி வில்வரும்பிரளயம். பிரமமணம், s. One of the eight modes of marriage. See மணம். பிரமமுனி--பிரமரிஷி, s. A Rishi of the Brahman caste, as most of them are. பிரமமூலி, s. A medicinal plant. See பிரமி. பிரமயாகம், s. One of the five யாகம், எச்சமைந்தினொன்று. பிரமயோனி, s. The birth, origin, or extraction of a brahman, பிராமணப்பிறப்பு. பிரமரட்சு, s. A savage man of a monstrous size, பருத்தமுருடன். பிரமரந்திரம், s. The tender part of the crown of the head where the bone is not formed in infancy, and through which it is said the soul of a yogi departs when he chooses to die, உச்சித்துவாரம். பிரமராட்சதன், s. A goblin or savage animated by the soul of a brahman, who in a former birth died with unexpiated sin. பிரமராட்சதி-பிரமராட்சதை, s. The ghost of a brahmani who having died a violent death appears in the form of a demon, inhabiting trees and possessing all the knowledge previously obtained, பார்ப் பாரப்பெண்பேய். பிரமலிபி, s. The writing of Brahma in the forehead of all persons before birth; fate, destiny. See தலைஎழுத்து. பிரமலிபிதப்பாது. The writing of Brahma will not fail. பிரமலோகம், s. The world and heaven of Brahma, being the seventh and highest of the seven upper worlds, also called சத்தியலோகம். (சது.) பிரமவமிசம், s. Lineage in succession from Brahma. 2. The race of brahmans, பிராமணசாதி. பிரமவாதம், s. The religious tenets of the Vedas considered systematically, வேதமதம். பிரமவித்து, s. One of the four grades of those who pursue a true and perfect knowledge of the deity, நால்வகைமுத்தரி லொருவன். பிரமவிந்து--பிரமபிந்து. s. The seed, or progeny of a brahman, &c., பிராமணவிந்து. 2. One of the thirty-two Upanishads. See உபநிடதம். பிரமனாள், s. The fourth lunar asterism, உரோகிணி. (சது.) பிரமன்--பிரமா, s. Brahma of the Triad, as creator, progenitor or evolver of worlds and creatures, நான்முகன். பிரமன்--பிரமா, s. Brahma of the Triad, as creator, progenitor or evolver of worlds and creatures, நான்முகன். பிரமன்றந்தை, s. Vishnu as father of Brahma, விஷ்ணு. பிரமாஞ்சலி, s. A form of worship in which the two hands are joined, and placed at the breast. பிரமாட்சரம், s. A letter which is the origin of all letters, and the prime root of all prayers and incantations, மூலவெ ழுத்து. பிரமாண்டம், s. The system of worlds, as created by Brahma, உலகம். 2. One of the eighteen Puranas, பதினெண்புரா ணத்தொன்று. 3. [fig.] That which is large, gigantic, huge, colossal, காத்திரம். (usage.) பிரமாண்டநாயகன், s. Lord of the universe, கடவுள். 2. An epithet used in praise, or compliment, சக்கரவர்த்தி. பிரமாத்திரம்--பிரமாஸ்திரம், s. A famous arrow of supernatural qualities, given by Brahma to some, who had practised extraordinary austerities. பிரமாந்தரம், s. Certain parts of the body regarded as stations of the soul, உயிர்நிலை. பிரமாயு, s. The age of Brahma, as பிர மகற்பம்; [ex ஆயு.] பிரமாயுதம், s. A number, one million, பத்திலட்சம். (சது.) பிரமாரண்ணியம், s. The name of a town called வேதாரண்ணியம். பிரமாலயம், s. The house of a brahman. பிரமானந்தம், s. Heavenly bliss, or felicity, as பரமானந்தம். பிரமோத்தரகாண்டம், s. The last section of chapter of the Brahma Purana, added by the Saivas concerning Gokarnam, பிரமபுராணத்துக்கடைக்காண்டம். பிரமோற்சவம், s. An annual grand festival at a pagoda. 3) *

மாயை
māyai (p. 350) s. Falsehood, vanity, ideality of the world, பொய். 2. A power or energy, as மாயாசத்தி. 3. Deceit, fraud, trick. வஞ்சம். 4. Tricks, jugglery, இந்திரசாலம். 5. Lukshmi. W. p. 657. MAYA. 6. Kali, காளி. 7. Rati, wife of Kaman. இரதி. 8. A town, as மாயாபுரி. 9. Matter, See வித்தியாதத்துவம்-Note. This word retains its Sanscrit pronunciation in combination. மாயை, 5. Five kinds of delusion, or evil, on the principles of Adwitas or followers of Sankaracharya. They are: 1. தமம், the tamasa disposition--darkness, or obscurity of mind; 2. மாயை, ideality, inherent evil, personified matter; 3. மோகம், depravity, error; 4. அவித்தை, ignorance, folly; 5. அநிர்தம், that which is without, or strange, opposed to God. அதோமாயை--அசுத்தமாயை, s. Subordinate or inferior illusion, or Maya. அதோமாயையிலிருந்துபிரகிருதிதோன்றும். The female principle in nature springs from the inferior Maya. சுத்தமாயை--மகாமாயை, s. Primitive or original Maya, as காரணமாயை. மாயாகாரியம், s. The effects of Maya, its various changes, and diversifications in nature. மாயாசங்கற்பம், s. Any remarkable effect of Maya by way of creation or destruction. மாயாசத்தி, s. A power, energy, or principle which contains the five kinds of மாயை, given above. See மாமாயை. மாயாசாலம்--மாயாசித்து, s. Dissimulation, treachery, imposture. மாயாதருமம், s. Transient or deceptive merit, பொய்ப்புண்ணியம். 2. Nature or peculiarity of Maya, மாயையின்றன்மை. மாயாதர்மம், 2. The two peculiarities of Maya are: 1. சங்கோசம், contracting; 2. விகாசம், expanding. மாயாதாரகம், s. That which has Maya for a principal cause. மாயாதாரணை, s. Things formed by Maya, the third of nine classes. See தாரணை. மாயாதேகம், s. A transitory body, நிலை யற்றசரீரம். மாயாதேவி, s. The mother of Buddha, புத்தன்றாய். மாயாதேவிசுதன், s. The son of Maya, Buddha. (சது.) மாயாபஞ்சகம், s. As மாயை, 5. மாயாபாசம், s. Being under the influence of Maya. மாயாபுரி, s. One of the seven famous towns. See புரி. 2. Brass, பித்தளை. மாயாப்பிரதிவிம்பர், s. [hon.] He whose glories, are reflected, in creation, &c., by means of Maya, மாயையாற்பிரதிபலிக்குமுருவு டையோர். (உபநி-124.) மாயாமலம், s. As மாயைமலம். மாயாரூபம், s. Feigned shapes, forms assumed, or caused by super-human powers. மாயாலட்சணம், s. The properties of Maya. They are five; 1. அசத்து, unreality; 2. சடம், matter; 3. அநித்தம், transientness; 4. துக்கம், distress; 5. கண்டம், division, a part. மாயாலீலை, s. Sportive illusions, as of Krishna, Siva, &c. See இலீலை. மாயாவல்லபம், s. The power or efficacy of Maya. மாயாவாதம், s. A religion whose doctrines are false, skepticism, ஓர்மதம். மாயாவாதி, s. Destroyer of Maya, and its evils. (பிரபுலிங்.) 2. One of the above religion, or sect; a skeptic. மயாவித்தை, s. Magic, as மாயவித்தை. மாயாவிமோசனம், s. Removal of Maya. மாயாவினோதம், s. Legerdemain, sportive deception, கண்கட்டுவித்தை. மாயைமலம், s. Confusion of mind, one of the three defilements. See மலம். மாயையுற்றாள், appel. n. Kali, காளி. மாயோபாதானம், s. That which is caused by Maya; [ex உபாதானம்.] 21)
மெய்
mey (p. 362) s Truth, sincerity,--oppos. to பொய்,சத்தியம் (c.) 2. The body, person, உடம்பு.3.Surface of the body, or feeling as one of the five senses, ஐம்பொறியுளொன்று. 4. [in gram.] A consonant, மெய்யெழுத்து. மெய்நின்றுவிழிக்கிறதுபொய்கொண்டுபொரிகிறது.... Truth is quiet, lie is blustering. [prov.] மெய்பொய்விசாரியுங்கள். Find out its truth or falsity. மெய்கண்டதேவர், s. A poet well skilled in Hindu metaphysics; also called, சுவேதவனப்பெருமாள். மெய்காட்டல், v. noun. Exhibiting strength, (lit.) showing the body. (p.) மெய்கூறல்--மெய்சொல்லல், v. noun. Speaking the truth. மெய்க்காப்பாளர், s. [also கஞ்சுகர்.] Body-guards, மெய்க்காவலர். மெய்க்கவசம்--மெய்யுறை, s. A coat of armor, a vestment. மெய்க்கிளை, s. [prov.] Genuine sprouts in jack-trees, &c., as distinguished from பொய்க்கிளை. See கிளை. மெய்க்கீர்த்திமாலை, s. A panegyric poem in the கட்டுரை versification, describing the illustrious descent, and famous actions of a hero. See பிரபந்தம். மெய்க்கொள்ள, inf. [com. மெய்யென்று கொள்ள.] To believe, take to be true. மெய்க்கோள், s. Earnest-money. (R.) மெய்க்கோளாய்வாங்கினேன். I got money in advance. மெய்ஞ்ஞானம்-மெஞ்ஞானநிட்டை, s. True wisdom, the state of the most exalted ascetic. மெய்ஞ்ஞானி, s. The true sage. மெய்நலம், s. [sometimes மெய்ந்நலம்.] Strength, வலி. (சது.) மெய்ந்நூல், s. [com. மின்னூல்.] Ancient writings, commonly divine. மெய்நூலன், s. An epithet of Dronacharya, துரோணாசாரியன். (சது.) மெய்புகுகருவி, s. A vestment, as மெ ய்க்கவசம். (p.) மெய்ப்படாம்,s. A mantle or cloak, covering the whole body, நிலையங்கி; [ex படாம், a cloth.] (p.) மெய்ப்படுத்த, inf. [intrans. மெய்ப் பட.] To prove substantial. மெய்ப்பரிசம், 8. Eight sensations of the body; 1. ஊன்றல், from placing; 2. கட்டல், binding; 3. குத்தல், stabbing; 4. தடவல், stroking; 5. தட்டல், patting; 6. தீண்டல், touching; 7. பற்றல், seizing; 8. வெட்டல், cutting--also called, அஷ்டமெய் ப்பரிசம். மெய்ப்பாடு, v. noun. Indication of passion or sentiment, by gesture, or any other signs--as tears for sorrow, the erection of the hairs of the body from love, joy, transport. 2. Experience of truth. மெய்ப்பை, s. A tight garment fitted to the body, சட்டை. (சது.) மெய்ப்பொருள், s. Sound doctrine. 2. The truth, an epithet of God, கடவுள். 3. Knowledge, அறிவு. Compare கைப்பொ ருள். மெய்ப்பொறி, s. The body as the organ of touch. மெய்மதம், s. True religion. மெய்மயக்கம், s. [in gram.] Consonants occurring together in a word, as ண் and ட in கண்டம்; க்க, in பக்கம். See மயக்கம். மெய்மலம்--மெய்மாசு, s. Human dung, நரகல். 2. As மேலழுக்கு. (p.) மெய்மறதி--மெய்மறத்தல், v. noun. Swooning, losing one's senses by delirium, becoming unconscious. (c.) நான்மெய்மறந்துபோனேன். I had quite forgotten [to bring, &c.] மெய்மெய்யாய், Very truly, evidently, in the very act. மெய்மை, s. A truth, fact. 2. Thought, intention, நினைவு. மெய்மைகூறல், v. noun. Acknowledging the truth. மெய்யர், appel. n. Brahmans, அந்த ணர். 2. Rishis, sages, ரிஷிகள். மெய்யன், appel. n. A true man, an honest person; a trust-worthy, upright man--oppos. to பொய்யன். 2. (p.) A son, மகன். மெய்யுணர்தல், v. noun. Understanding and feeling the truth. மெய்யுரைத்தல், v. noun. Explaining a text; a commentary. மெய்யெழுத்து, s. A consonant, a bodyletter, to which a vowel gives life. மெய்யென்றிருக்கிறது. Taking for a truth. மெய்வருக்கை, s. The class of consonants. See வருக்கை. மெய்விரதன், s. An epithet of Yudhist'hira, உதிட்டிரன். 2. An epithet of Bîshma, வீடுமன். (p.) மெய்விவாகம், s. True matrimony, marriage according to law.
