Agitated (with sorrow, anxiety, &c.,) as a fowl with its throat cut. அறுத்தறுத்தப்பேசுகிறான். He speaks distinctly. 2. He speaks decisively. 3. He uses cutting words. தடையறுத்துக்கொடுப்பேன். I will remove the obstacles, obviate objections, break the enchantments which prevent success --as in fishing, &c. வீரனுமவன்றலையறுத்தான். And Veeran cut off his head. இருளறுத்தெழுங்கதிர். The rising sun which exterminates the darkness. அறுமணை, s. An instrument for cutting vegetables, fish, &c. 2. A slut, slatterer. 3. A woman ugly or deformed in features. (c.) அறுவடை, v. noun. The act of reaping the corn. அறுவரி, s. A tax paid at fixed times. அறுவிதி, s. Decision. வழக்கறுக்க, inf. To decide a case. ஆடறுக்க, inf. To slay sheep. அறுப்பு, v. noun. Sundering, separating, cutting a part, reaping, &c., அரிகை. 2. A piece, section, அறுத்ததுண்டு. 3. An imprecation of widowhood--in allusion to the sundering of the marriage ornament at the death of the husband, தாலியறுக்கை. 4. The opening of a wound, an open cut, &c., அறுவாய். 5. The opening made in sawing a piece of timber, மரமுதலியவையினறுவாய். 6. Confutation, refutation of another's arguments, ஆட்சேபிக்கை. அறுப்புக்காலம், s. The time of harvest. அறுப்புண்க, inf. aẕu (p. 32) கிறேன், தேன், வேன், அழ, v. n. To weep, cry, இரங்க. 2. To bewail, lament, புலம்ப. 3. To whine, சிணுங்க. 4. To low, bellow, (as a cow for its call), bleat, (as a sheep), mew, (as a cat), caw, (as a crow), cry or hoot, (as an owl), கத்த. In some of these a cry of distress or anxiety is indicated as of the dam for its young. குடல்கூழுக்கழக்கொண்டைபூவுக்கழுகிறதா? Would you by adorning your hair with flowers while your belly is craving food? ஆண்டாண்டுதோறுமழுதுபுரண்டாலும் மாண்டார் வருவரோ மாநிலத்தில்? What though we roll in sorrow from year to year, can the deceased return again to this nether world? அழுகண்ணி, s. A species of plant from which water is continually oozing and dropping, ஓர்பூடு. அழுகள்ளன், s. A hypocritical weeper. அழுகுணி, s. A crying one, அ ழுவோன். அழுகை, v. noun. Weeping, crying. 12)

A living being, human, brute, or vegetable; an animal, ஓரறி வுயிர்முதலியசீவராசி. உயிருமுடலும்போல. As closely united as the soul and body. உயிர்போய்விட்டது. Life is gone. மன்னுயிர்க்கிரங்குகிறது. To be compassionate to other living creatures. உயிரடங்க, inf. To be in a state of insensibility, be in a swoon, to be suspended as the vital powers. உயிரடைய, inf. To revive, to be reanimated. உயிரளபு--உயிரளபெடை, s. The lengthening of a vowel in verse. See அளபெடை. உயிரறுதியும். Till the very end of life. உயிருதவி, s. Aid in a fatal juncture. 2. Aid by sacrificing life for another. உயிரெடுக்க, inf. To take away life. உயிரெழுத்து, s. A vowel, ஆவி. உயிரொடுங்க, inf. To be reduced as the powers before death, உயிரடங்க. 2. The vital parts essential to life, உயிர்த்தானம். உயிர்பிழைக்க--உயிருய்ய, inf. To survive a calamity, escape from, or live through a time of peril, தப்பிப்பிழைக்க. 2. To live, maintain life, subsist, உயிர் வாழ. உயிர்போக, inf. To expire, to die. உயிர்ப்பழி, s. The guilt of murder, உயிர்க்கொலை. 2. Vengeance, divine or human, persuing the murderer to death, regarded as the ghost of the murdered person, பிரமகத்தி. உயிர்ப்பிராணி, s. [vul.] A living creature, a brute, an inferior animal, சீவபிராணி. உயிர்மாய்க்க, inf. To destroy one's self, commit suicide, தன்னுயிரைப்போக்க. 2. To murder, kill, கொலைசெய்ய. உயிர்மெய்--உயிர்மெய்யெழுத்து, s. An animated consonant, a consonant combined with a vowel, ஓரெழுத்து; (lit.) a living body. உயிர்வாங்க, inf. (குறள்.) தானென்கிறவெண்ணம்--நானென் கிறவெண்ணம், s. Self-conceit, self-importance. இன்னானென்கிறவெண்ணமவனுக்கில்லை. Rank of station with him is a matter of no consideration. எண்ணக்குறிப்பு, s. Motive, object, intention, design, நோக்கம். எண்ணங்குலைய, inf. To be perplexed in mind, மனங்கலங்க. 2. To be disconcerted in a plan, to be thwarted in one's expectation, எண்ணம்வீணாக. 3. To lose reputation, மதிப்புக்கெட. எண்ணங்கொண்டிருக்க, inf. To entertain hope. 2. To be anxious, to be in deep concern. 3. To intend, purpose. 4. To muse on, ponder. 5. To build castles in the air. எண்ணந்தப்ப, inf. To be disappointed, to prove incorrect--as an opinion, மதிப்புத்தவற. எண்ணத்தப்பு--எண்ணத்தவறு, s. Disrespect to a superior, அவமதிப்பு. 2. ōy (p. 84) கிறேன், ந்தேன், வேன், ஓய, v. a. To cease, leave off, to desist from action, &c., to rest, விட. 2. v. n. To become tired, become weary, to fail, become weak or infirm--as a member of the body, தளர. 3. To cease, end, முடிய. ஓயாமலிருக்க, inf. To be incessant, continual. ஓயாமல்வருகிறான். He comes incessantly. மரங்காய்த்தோய்தல், v. noun. Ceasing to bear fruit for the season. ஆய்ந்தோய்ந்துபார்த்தல், v. noun. Considering maturely, deliberating. எல்லாமோய்ந்தகணக்காய்ப்போயிற்று. His wealth, influence, &c. are all reduced. கையோயாமல்வேலைசெய்கிறான். He labors incessantly. எழுதியெழுதிக்கையோய்ந்துபோயிற்று. My arm is weary with continual writing. ஆடியோய்ந்தபம்பரம். A top that has ceased to spin; i. e. an ascetic, so called because he has renounced worldly cares, and is henceforth exempt from transmigrations. 2. An old man whose active days are past. 3. A person dismissed from office. காலோய்ந்துகையோய்ந்துபோகுதல். Feeling weak in the legs and arms--as after fever, &c. ஓயாக்கவலை, s. Incessant troubles, anxiety. ஓயாமாரி, s. Incessant rain, ஓயா மழை. 2. Unceasing liberality, பெருங் கொடை. ஓய்ந்தமனம், s. A mind that has ceased to be affected by secular objects. ஓய்ந்துபோக, inf. To become weary. அடித்தோய, inf. To desist from beating. ஓயல்--ஓய்வு, v. noun. Cessation, ceasing, relinquishment, rest, ஒழிவு. 2. Slackness, தளர்வு. 3. End, termination, முடிவு. ஓய்வுகரையில்லாமற்கொடுக்கிறான். He bestows without limit or cessation. ஓய்வுநாள், s. A day of rest; [in Christ. usage.] the sabbath. 107)
