iṟaiñcu (p. 57) கிறேன், இறைஞ்சினே ன், வேன், இறைஞ்ச, v. n. To stoop, bow, bend, incline the head, குனிய. 2. v. a. To make obeisance, to reverence, worship by bending or prostration, வணங்க. (p.) உலகறிந்திறைஞ்சுமாபெருமை. Greatness which the world shall know and reverence. நோக்கியிறைஞ்சினாள். She looked and bowed her head. (குறள்.) இறைஞ்சலர்--இறைஞ்சார், s. The mode of using the hands in dancing which are of twenty-three kinds, viz.: 1. பதாகை, stretching all the five fingers keeping them close and straight. 2. திரிபதாகை, bending the thumb and ring-finger and stretching the rest. 3. பிறை, keeping the other four fingers close together separately from the thumb. 4. சர்ப்பசிரம், keeping the palm of the hand curved. 5. சாளையம், bending the little finger and ring-finger and stretching the rest. 6. மான்றலை, keeping the middle three fing ers down and lifting the other two up. 7. பதுமகோசரம், keeping up the palm of the hand opened having the fingers bent. 8. சிலீமுகம், keeping the tip of the forefinger at the bottom of the thumb and the tips of each of the rest at the middle of the adjoining finger. 9. முட்டி, folding all the four fingers and keeping the thumb above the middle finger. 1. சிக ரம், folding all the other fingers and keeping the thumb stretched. 11. சூசி, stretching the pointing finger and keeping the thumb curved while the others are folded. 12. கபித்தம், keeping the tips of the thumb and fore-finger close together and the other folded. 13. கடகம், keeping the tips of the thumb and forefinger together, the middle finger bent and the rest stretched. 14. சந்தங்கிஷம், keeping the tips of the thumb and pointing finger together, stretching the rest. 15. அஞ்சவாய், keeping the ringfinger and little finger separately stretched up and keeping the tips of the rest together. 16. முகிழ், keeping the tips of all the fingers together. 17. திரிலிங்கம், keeping the tips of the thumb and pointing finger together, the rest curved and the wrist a little bent. 18. மிருகசிரம், stretching up the pointing finger and the little finger and keeping the rest close together. 19. சிங்கநகம், keeping up the palm of the hand having the fingers almost folded. 2. கூர்மம், stretching up the middle finger while the others are bent down. 21. பூரணம், stretching all the five fingers straight not being close together. 22. மென்னிலை, bending the thumb and stretching up the rest. 23. முன்னதம், separating the fore-finger from the rest. கரவாளம், s. kvi (p. 98) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. a. To cover-as with an umbrella; to canopy, over-spread, bend inwards, மூட. (p.) குடைகலித்தான். He covered himself with an umbrella. கவிப்பு, v. noun. Covering, concavity, a bending, curvity, flexure, inclination, மூடுகை. 2. s. An unbrella, a canopy, குடை. (p.) 3. In divination by astrology, the signs which stand as many signs forward from the rising sign, as the situation of the sun is from the ஆரூடம், இராசிக்கவிப்பு. (See ஆரூடம் and உதயம்.) 4. The second of the four attitudes in archery. See நிலை. மண்டலமழை, s. Rain extending through the country. மண்டலம்போட--மண்டலமிட, inf. To form into circles or coils, as a snake. 2. To pass round one another--as combatants, or as birds, &c., in a circle, சுற்றிச்சுற்றிவர. 3. To make ornamental, astrological or mystic diagrams, commonly of a circular figure, யந்திரம்வகுக்க. மண்டலவிதி, s. Directions for making diagrams, for worship, &c. மண்டலபுருடன், s. [also called வீரமண் டலவன்.] A Jaina ascetic equally eminent as a poet and lexicographer. His poetic lexicon சூடாமணிநிகண்டு, outshines all similar productions in Tamil. He also wrote an epic poem in honor of Argha, ஓர்நிகண்டாசிரியன். மண்டலாகாரம், s. A circular figure, course, &c., வட்டவடிவம். மண்டலாபிஷேகம், s. A daily anointing of an idol for forty days, after the கும்பாபிஷேகம் or other ceremony. மண்டலார்த்தம், s. Semicircle, அர்த்த கோளம். 2. Semidiameter, பாதிவிட்டம். மண்டலீகர், s. [pl.] Kings, sovereigns of a limited reign, அரசர். (சது.) மண்டலேசன், s. An emperor, an independent monarch, உலகாதிபதி; [ex ஈசன்.] மண்டலேசுரன்--மண்டலேச்சுவரன், s. An independent sovereign. 2. A monarch who governs a country forty yojana in length, and forty in breadth; or containing over 1, hamlets. 34) *

mṇṭi (p. 341) s. Sediment, dregs, settlings, lees, வண்டல். 2. A warehouse, in which grain is stored, களஞ்சியம். 3. A large market place, பெரியகடை. 4. A bending or squatting posture of the body; sitting like a monkey, மண்டிபோட்டிருக்கை. (c.) மண்டிக்கால்போட--மண்டிபோட-மண்டியிட, inf. To stand firm with the legs bent, as archers. மண்டித்தண்ணீர், s. Muddy water. மண்டியடைய, inf. To settle to the bottom as dregs. 38)

muṭkku (p. 356) கிறேன், முடக்கினேன், வேன், முடக்க, v. a. To bend the knees, arms, &c., as மடக்க. 2. To make lame. முடங்கச் செய்ய. 3. To prevent, to hinder, தடுக்க. (c.) அவன்முடக்கிப்படுத்துக்கொண்டான். He lay down, bending his knees and arms close together. அவனைமுடக்கிப்போட்டது. It made him lame; spoken of some paralytic disease. முடக்கிவைக்க, inf. To complete a work of importance, but to speak of it as something trifling--as ஒருகுடிசைமுடக்கி வைத்தேன், I have put together a hut, instead of வீடுகட்டினேன், I have built a house. 102)
