A trick, stratagem, scheme, mischievous device, சதியோசனை. அபாயதந்திரம், s. Artifice, trick. அபாயம்பண்ண, inf. To deceive, defraud, act treacherously. அபாயோபாயம், s. Expedient, shift, what is done by hook or by crook, by any means direct or indirect. அபானம், s. The anus, குதம். 2. Limited and superficial knowledge obtained by the senses, &c., and subject to interruption, oblivion, &c., பொறிகளாலறியுமறிவு. அபரநாதம், s. One of the five powers or தத்துவம் belonging to Siva. (உப. 157.) அபரபக்ஷம்--அபரபக்கம்--அபர பட்சம், s. The second fortnight of the moon, the moon in its decrease, தேய் பிறை. அபரமுத்தி, s. An inferior heaven, பதமுத்தி. அபரராத்திரம், s. [in Hindu Astronomy.] The equation of a given tabular number or argument answering to the preceding one. அபரவிந்து, s. One of the five powers or தத்துவம் of Siva. amutam (p. 20) --அமிருதம், s. Ambrosia, nectar, the food of the gods, obtained by churning the sea of milk, தேவருணவு. 2. Sweetness, இனிமை. 3. Milk. பால். 4. Water, நீர். 5. A medicine, a medicament that restores to life, a cordial, ஓர்மருந்து. 6. Final emancipation of the soul or eternal felicity according to Hindu philosophy, முத்தி. 7. A kind of liquor supposed to ooze from the brains of a class of yogis, on which they subsist. (See அமுததாரணை.) 8. Curds, தயிர். 9. Three kinds of medicinal fruits. திரிபலை. 1. Three kinds of spices, திரிகடுகு. 11. A plant, சீந்தில். அமுதகம், s. The sea of milk, பாற்கடல். 2. Water, சலம். 3. The female breast, கொங்கை. (p.) அமுதகுலர், s. Shepherds, இடை யர். 2. The learned, the great, சான்றோர். அமுதங்கரந்தநஞ்சு, s. A poisonous substance enclosing something valuable, as the covering of ginger root, which is to be rejected, &c. 2. A person with harsh words and good disposition. அமுதசருக்கரை, s. A medicinal sugar prepared from the சீந்தில் root or stem. அமுததாரணை, s. The nectarine principle in the head or brain from which the silent, motionless devotee is supposed to obtain nutrition, support and enjoyment, when living without external food. அமுதபுட்பம், s. A creeping plant, சிறுகுறிஞ்சா, Periploca, L. அமுதப்பார்வை, s. A favorable or propitious look. as of a lady towards her admirer, குளிர்ந்தபார்வை. அமதமேந்தல், v. noun. Giving food to ascetics and other virtuous persons, guests, as one of the nine kinds of புண்ணியம், and of the sixteen உபசாரம். அமுதயோகம், s. [in astrology.] The auspicious conjunction of a certain day of the week, phase of the moon and lunar constellation. See யோகம். அமுதர், s. Celestials, வானோர். 2. Herdsmen, இடையர். (p.) அமுதவல்லி, s. A creeper, as சீந்தில். அமுதவெழுத்து, s. Letters deemed propitious and proper to begin a poem, or to be in other important places.
