A kind of fish, ஓர் மீன். மதுசகன், s. Kama, காமன்; [ex மது, spring and சக, for சகி, friend, the spring being favorable to love.] மதுசூதனன், s. Vishnu, the destroyer of மது demon, விட்டுணு. மதுபதி, s. The goddess காளி. (சது.) மதுபம், s. A bee--as sucking honey; [ex ப, that drink.] மதுபானம், s. [appel. மதுபானி.] Sweet, and intoxicating liquor. மதுமத்தை, s. A flower-plant, whose flower is worn by Siva, ஊமத்தை. மதுமாமிசம்--மதுமாம்சம், s. Toddy and flesh; luxurious living. மதுரசம், s. Juice of the moon-plant, Asclepias acida; (lit.) sweet juice. 2. mayam (p. 344) s. A camel, ஒட்டை. W. p. 644. MAYA. 2. Beauty, in reference only to the works of மயன், a daitya, அழகு. 3. A Sanscrit affix expressing nature, quality, possession, property, manner or likeness--as தேசோமயம், splendor; சொர்னமயம், of a golden quality; விஷ்ணுமயம்; belonging to Vishnu; கோமயம்; cow's dung; அன்னமயம்; property of food; அவன்மயம், as he is, in like manner.
