pārāṭṭu (p. 312) கிறேன், பாராட்டினேன், வேன், பாராட்ட, v. a. To celebrate, to show forth, to make much of, விசேஷிக்க. 2. To applaud, to commend, to eulogize, புகழ. 3. To expatiate on, to hold up to view, to dwell on, விரித்துரைக்க. 4. To caress, to fondle, to entertain with fondness, உபசரிக்க. 5. To magnify, to exaggerate, to boast, சிறப்பிக்க. 6. To be particular about a work, a writing, &c., to be too long about a thing, to delay, சாவதானமாய்ச்செய்ய. 7. To talk of a subject merely to please, இனிமையாய்ப் பேச. 8. To make formal professions, உரி மைபாவிக்க. (c.) பாராட்டிக்கேட்க, inf. To listen to a poem, a story, &c., and praise it. பாராட்டிப்பேச, inf. To commend, to extol, to speak highly of. பாராட்டுந்தாய், s. A nurse to divert a child, one of the five kinds of nurses, ஐவகைத்தாயிலொருத்தி. பாராட்டு, v. noun.
