kāṭci (p. 103) s. Sight, view, பார்்வை. 2. An object of sight, visible appearance, தோற் றம். 3. The manifestation of a deity or the sight of a great personage, தரிசனம். 4. (p.) [in logic.] Perception, evidence of the senses, பிரத்தியட்சப்பிரமாணம். 5. Knowledge, intelligence, ascertainment, அறிவு. 6. [in erotics.] One of the ten அவத்்தை, the first view which a bridegroom has of his bride, விரகாவஸ்தைக்காட்சி. 7. (c.) Anomaly, a strange event, நூதனக்காட்சி.--Note. In the agama logic, seven species of perception are given, viz.: 1. ஐயக்காட்சி, Indistinct apprehension, doubt, uncertainty, hesitation. 2. திரிபுக்காட்சி, misapprehension, misconception, optical or mental illusion. 3. விகற் பக்காட்சி, discrimination or knowledge to distinguish things one from another in five particulars, viz.: in name, kind, quality, action, and substance. or matter. 4. பொ றிவாயிற்காட்சி, perception of the sences, with the aid of the mental faculties. 5. மனக் காட்சி, or மானதக்காட்சி, ideas formed in the mind of things perceived by the senses. 6. அனுபவக்காட்சி, perception by actual experience of the exercise of the affecions towards objects perceived. 7. யோகக்காட்சி, the spiritual perception of the Yoga, or knowledge of events past, present or future, by abstract devotion--Note. 2d. Each of the above has two divisions, one, புறம்-abroad, relating to external or secular affairs; the other, அகம்-- at home, to religious affairs. கண்ணுக்குக்காட்சிகடவுளுக்குங்காட்சி. What is pleasing to the sight is pleasing to the deity--referring to the ornaments of the temple, rich offerings, &c. கண்ணுள்ளபோதே காட்சி. Gratify your sight while you can. காட்சிகொடுக்க, inf. To manifest himself--as a deity. காட்சிப்பிரமாணம், s. [in logic.] One of the eight modes of ascertaining truth. See பிரத்தியட்சப்பிரமாணம். காட்சிப்பொருள், s. Things seen, objects of sight or sense--as distinguished from கருத்துப்பொருள். or mental objects. காட்சிமறைத்தல், v. noun. Hinderance in seeing or observing any thing. See அஷ்டகுற்றம். காட்சியர்-காட்சியவர்--காட்சியார், s. The wise, அறிஞர். காட்சியாக, inf. To appear in a vision. காட்சியுணர்வு, s. The sense of sight, காட்சியறிவு. காணாக்காட்சி, s. An extraordinary sight, a wonderful occurrence. 2. An ill omen. திருக்காட்சி, s. A divine meditation. காரணக்காட்சி, s. A great sight or event which may be the cause of future effects. 81) *

tiri (p. 239) கிறேன், ந்தேன், வேன், திரிய, v. n. To walk about, to wander, to ramble, to go here and there, to stray, to be unsettled, உழல. (c.) 2. To change, to vary, மாற. 3. To perish, அழிய. 4. To turn. to whirl; to revolve--as the heavenly bodies, உருள. 5. To be twisted; to be convolved, சுருள. 6. to revolve, as the soul in transmigrations, பிறவியிற்சுழல. 7. To vary or swerve from truth, மனங்கோண. 8. To be variegated, as a landscape, to be diversified, மாறுபட. 9. [with an infinitive preceding.] To be near or exposed to, as சாகத்திரிந்தேன், I was near dying. 1. [in gram.] To be changed as letters for their correlatives, &c., in combination or otherwise, எழுத்துத்திரிய. லகாரம்றகாரமாகவும்ளகாரம்டகரமாவுந்திரிந்தன..... The letter ல is changed to ற, and the letter ள to ட. கூடிநாடித்திரிய, inf. To associate with one. See கூடு, v. கெட்டுப்போகத்திரிய, inf. To go to ruin. முகந்திரிதல், v. noun. Change of countenance. (p.) திரிந்துவர, inf. To come round; to go about, or endeavor to accomplish. திரிசொல், s. Variable words, used, according to Rottler, principally by the learned. 1. Different names of the some thing. 2. A word with different meanings. 3. Words not in common use. 4. Metaphorical words. 5. Words declined or modified. திரிய--திரியவும், [prov.] [adverbially.] Again, furthermore, moreover, திரும்பவும். திரிதல்--திரிகை, v. noun. Roaming about, changing places. திரிபு--திரிவு, v. noun. Change, alteration, mutation, variation, diversity, வே றுபாடு. 2. [in gram.] Permutation, metathesis, &c., புணர்ச்சிவிகாரத்தொன்று. 3. One of the three obstacles to the attainment of heaven. See முத்திவிக்கினம். திரிபுக்காட்சி--திரிவுக்காட்சி, s. [in log.] Optical illusion, misconception in objects of sense; i. e. mistaking one thing for another, as a post for a thief, ஒன் றைமற்றொன்றாகமதித்தல். சொற்றிரிபு, s. Change in the form of a word, as of a gerund for an infinitive. பொருட்டிரிபு, Change of meaning, or compound terms having different meanings, according to the manner in which they are read or accented. திரிபுவிகாரம், s. [in gram.] The change of one letter for another. திரிபணி, s. A figure of speech, a metaphor, ஓரலங்காரம், as தாடகமலத்தானடந்து கட்குவளையானோக்கி, she walked with red lotus legs, and looked forth with குவளை flower eyes. 40)
