Dance, play, game, prank, an act of play, a turn-about, a turn, once playing the game, விளையாட்டு. 3. Likeness, the assumption of a character, profession, conduct, shape in imitation, தன்மை. 4. Moving about, energy, vigor, action, முயற்சி. (c.) அங்கேபோக ஆட்டமாடுகிறான். He insists on going there, (contrary to advice.) இந்த ஆட்டத்துக்கெல்லாமவனசையான். He will not be moved by this agitation. அவன் ஆட்டந்தீர்ந்தது. He power, bustle, agitation, harassing, &c. has come to an end. அவனிரண்டாட்டம் விளையாடினான் ஓராட்டந் தோற்றுப்போனான். He played two games and lost one of them. ஆட்டமடித்தல், v. noun. A play among children in which the புள்ளு, or small stick, being swung round so as to fly t a distance, is struck by the கிட்டி, or larger stick. ஆட்டமெடுக்க, inf. To enter on a rash or odd enterprise, to beat another in the above play. 10)

To roll a ball, or wheel, trundle a hoop, &c., to wheel a barrow, to bowl, turn about, revolve a thing on a plane, to whirl, (a discus, &c.), passing through the air at right angles with the horizon, உருளச்செய்ய. 2. [prov.] To defeat a rival by arguments, sophistry, &c., to overcome in athletic exercises, games, to overmatch, வெல்ல. 3. To beat a drum rapidly, to beat a ruffle, மத்தளம்விரை வாயடிக்க. 4. [in architecture.] To form a moulding, திரட்ட. 5. To form clay or other substances into balls or globules by rolling, working in the hand, &c; குண் டுருட்ட; [ex உருள், v.] உலகுக்குநாயகனாயோராழிதனியுருட்டி. Guiding the wheel of power as the sovereign of the universe. அவனைப்புடையனுருட்டும். The beaver snake will bite, will tumble him over (and bite him). (A curse.) உருட்டித்தைக்க, inf. To roll and sew a border--a kind of hemming. உருட்டிப்பார்க்க--உருட்டிவிழிக் க, inf. To roll the eyes and look intently with signs of anger or intimidation. உருட்டிப்போட, inf. To roll a ball, &c. 2. To defeat by arguments, by a display of skill, or by sophistry, to overcome in games, &c., புரட்டிவிட, 3. To be the cause of ruin to a family, &c., அழித்துப்போட. அசத்தியமந்தக்குடியையுருட்டிபோட்டது. Perjury has ruined the family. ஆனையவனையுருட்டிப்போட்டது. The elephant rolled him over and over. உருட்டுதிரைக்கடல், s. The sea with rolling billows. குளிகையுருட்ட--மாத்திரையுருட் ட, inf. To form or make pills. (Med.) நாயுருட்ட, inf. To tumble down and bite--said of a dog. வாயாலுருட்ட, inf. To use sophistry, to dispute clamorously. கவறுருட்ட, inf. To throw dice'. உருட்டு, v. noun. Rolling, revolving on a plane, the revolution or turning of a wheel, whirling, உருட்டுகை. 2. Fraud, artifice, trick, sophistry in overcoming an antagonist, புரட்டு. 3. (சது.) நாட்டவத்தனம், s. [prov.] Clownishness, rusticity, நாட்டுப்பாங்கு. நாட்டவன்--நாட்டான், s. A countryman, a clown. நாட்டாண்மை, s. [vul. நாட்டாமை.] Chieftaincy of a country, ஊராளுந்தன்மை. நாட்டாண்மைக்காரன், s. Chief of a country or village; a Natamagar. நாட்டாண்மைக்காரி, s. Wife of a Natamagar. 2. A proud forward woman. நாட்டாண்மைப்பண்ண, inf. To manage the office of a Natamagar. நாட்டார், s. [sing. நாட்டான்.] People of a country, தேய்த்தார். 2. Countrymen, rustics, நாட்டுப்புறத்தார். 3. Chief persons among the Vellala caste. நாட்டாள், s. [com. காட்டாள்.] A laborer, வேலைசெய்வோன். நாட்டாளுக்கொருநீட்டாளோ. Must a day laborer have a servent? நாட்டுக்கணக்கன், s. A village accountant. நாட்டுக்குற்றம், s. Things injurious to a country, pests, scourges, ஊருக்குள்ள தீங்கு.--One class is seven-fold: 1. தொட்டி யர், strolling jugglers, wizards, witches; 2. திருடர், thieves, robbers; 3. யானை, wild elephants; 4. பன்றி, wild hogs; 5. விட் டில், insects; 6. கிள்ளை, parrots; 7. பெரு மழை, excessive rain.--Another class is eight, fold: 1. விட்டில், locusts and insects; 2. தன்னரசு, anarchy; 3. வேற்ற ரசு, invasion by a foreign power; 4. யானை, elephants; 5. மிகுமழை, excessive rain; 6. மிகுகாற்று, high winds, tempests. 7. கிள்ளை, parrots; 8. நட்டம், dissipation or dancing. (சது.) நாட்டுச்சந்தம்--நாட்டுப்பாங்கு, s. Slovenly or rustic habits of dress, behavior or talk. நாட்டுச்சார்பு, s. Agricultural tracts, மருதநிலம். நாட்டுச்சிறப்பு, s. The excellencies, natural or artificial of a country, ஊர் வளம். நாட்டுப்புறம், s. Country parts. நாட்டுப்புறத்தார், s. [pl.] Rustics, unpolished persons. நாட்டுப்பெண், s. A daughter-in-law, மருமகள். (Tanjore usage.) நாட்டுப்போங்கு--நாட்டுவழக்கம், s. The style, fashion, and manners of a country, ஊர்க்கடுத்தவிதம். 2. Rusticity, coarseness, அவிவேகவாடிக்கை. நாட்டுமட்டம், s. A country pony not from Pegu. நாட்டுவர்த்தமானம், s. The news of the Mofussil. நாட்டுவளப்பம்--நாட்டுவளம், s. Fertility of country, நாட்டின்சீர். 2. Good order of a country, as to its inhabitants, the animals, &c. நாட்டுவெள்ளரி, s. The wild Cucumber, of native or spontaneous growth. 66)

pṭpṭttl (p. 291) --படபடப்பு, v. noun. Being over-hasty in speech or action, being precipitant through fear, anger, &c., தீவரித்தல். 2. Shivering or tottering with cold, fever, ague, &c., துடித்தல். 3. Quivering as the lips, &c., உதடுதுடித்தல். 4. Being in agitation, through rage, கோபக் குறிப்பு. 5. Rattling, as things falling, rolling, breaking, ஈரடுக்கொலிக்குறிப்பு. 6. Flapping as a flag or sail, அடித்தல். (c.) இத்தனைபடபடப்புஆகாது. Such a hastiness is bad. 34)
