The stage when a medicinal oil is to be taken from the fire. 2. (fig.) Such a delicate state of the system as renders a person liable to disease from the least exposure. 3. (fig.) Excessive irritability of temper, extreme of sensibility.--Note. There are five degrees of inspissation: 1. குழம்புப்பதம், a thickened state; 2. கடுகுப்பதம், partial fluidity; 3. மந்தபதம், oily consistency; 4. மெழுகுபதம், waxy state; 5. முறுகுபதம், dryness. There are two states of heat in preparing oils, metals, &.c.: காயும்பதம், slight heat, for boiling the juices of plants; 2. வேல்பதம், full heat for melting gold, silver and other metals. பதக்கேடு, v. noun. Past the right stage, over-ripe, over-boiled, decayed, rotten. பதக்கேடானசரீரம். Debility of the system, often through age. பதத்துக்குக்காய்ச்ச--பதமாகக்காய்ச்ச, inf. To heat or boil medical oil, food, &c., to the proper degree. பதத்துக்குவடிக்க--பதத்தில்வடிக்க, inf. To strain a medical oil, &c., at the right stage of boiling. பதநீர், s. [com. பதனி.] Sweet toddy drawn in a pot lined with chunam To prevent fermentation. பதந்தப்ப, inf. To miss or pass the proper stage of boiling rice or medical oil, or in the ripening of fruits. 2. To pass the proper time for doing a thing. எகுபதந்தப்பிப்போயிற்று. The steel is not well tempered. பதபாகம், s. Gentleness, mildness, &c. பதப்பட, inf. [v. noun. பதப்பாடு.] To be seasoned, tempered, fitted, adapted, trained, பக்குவமாக. 2. To grow ripe, பழுக்க. பல்லுக்குப்பதப்பட்டது. It is adapted to the teeth--as well boiled for an old man, &c. பதப்படுத்த, inf. To season, temper, tan, mould, adapt, train. பதமழிவு, v. noun. Over-ripeness. See பதனழிவு. பதமறிய, inf. To know the right stage, temperature or consistency. பதமாயிருக்க, inf. To strain the water from boiled rice that it may be properly dry. பதமெடுக்க--பதம்பிடிக்க, inf. To hit on the right stage, as in boiling rice, oil, &c. பதம்பண்ண, inf. To season, to temper, to mould; to tan. பதம்பாட, inf. To compose a பதம் ode. பதம்பார்க்க, inf. To try the taste, consistency, &c., of boiling rice, to try a fruit, by feeling, smelling, or cutting. &c. 2. To hesitate and not enter on a business promptly. 2.
