[loc.] Rice boiled and set before the idol on a salver in the form of a cup, in which it had been moulded. கும்பற்சாதம், s. See under கும்பு, v. பிச்சைச்சாதம், s. [com. பிச்சைச்சோறு.] Boiled rice for the poor. பொங்கற்சாதம், s. Rice with the water not strained off, but left to steep. See பொங்கல். 5) *

cikā (p. 181) s. [in combination.] A tuft of hair, சிகை. (p.) சிகாச்சேதனம், s. Tonsure, cutting off all the hair of the head as an expression of grief for the loss of a father, &c. 2. cirai (p. 185) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. a. To shave, to cut or pare close to the surface--as by a razor, மயிர்கழிக்க; [ex Sa. Kshura, to cut.] 2. [vul. a corruption of திரைக்க.] To gather up the skirts of a garment--as சீலையைத்திரைக்க. வேலைமினக்கெட்ட அம்பட்டன் பூனைக்குட்டியைச் சிரைத்தானாம். The unemployed barber shaved the cat, i. e., the idle will be mis-employed. சிரைகூலி, s. Barber's hire. சிரைதொழில்--சிரைவேலை, s. [prov.] Shaving, tonsure. 2. (fig.)
