The varieties in love are seven, of which five are taken from the names of the species of land above mentioned, viz.: 1. கைக்கிளை. 2. குறிஞ்சி; 3. பாலை; 4. முல்லை; 5. மருதம், for which, see அகப்பொருள். To these are added; 6. நெய்தல், the lady bemoaning her lover's absence; 7. பெ ருந்திணை, unnatural castes; disparity in age--as the wife being the elder, violation of customary rules; also love disasters, marriage feuds, &c.
