kōlu (p. 151) கிறேன், கோலினேன், வேன், கோ ல,v. a. To enclose, encircle, encompass, surround, envelope, சூழ. 2. To curve, bend in, to gather in, to draw together-as in சப்பனங்கோல, வளைக்க. 3. [prov.] To make, construct, to compass, effect, accomplish, உண்டாக்க. 4. To gather or take up with a sweep of the arm; to bale, lade, to draw up as with a basket, முகந்தள்ள. நிலமுழுவதுந்தனதெனக்கோலி. Having encompassed and taken the whole territory under his sway. (நன்.) கோலிக்கொள்ள, inf. To lave, to bale; to gather up, to accumulate--as property, &c. கோலியள்ள, inf. A bashful, timid person, நாணமுள்ளவன். (c.) 6. (சது.) Cruelty, severity, கொடுமை. மேழிச்செல்வங்கோழைபடாது. The wealth of the plough is unfailing. (Avv.) கோழைகட்ட, inf.
