A marriageable girl. வல்லமையறிவோம். We will find out which is the most competent, (by way of bravado.) தன்னையறியுமறிவேயறிவாகும் பின்னையறிவது பேயறி வாமே. To know one's self is knowledge, other knowledge is inferior. அறிகருவி, s. The organs of sense. அறிகுறி, s. A sign, mark, token, symbol. அறிஞன், s. Gain, profit, acquisition, இலாபம். 3. Wealth, prosperity, riches, fortune, affluence, செல்வம். 4. Gold, பொன். 5. Lakshmi, இலக்குமி. 6. The front division of an army, கொடிப்படை. 7. Elevation, எழு ச்சி. 8. Enlargement, increase, பெருக்கம். (p.) ஆக்கச்சொல், s. A word or phrase used metonymically, ஆகுபெயர்ச்சொல்; such as, விட்டவாக்கச்சொல், விடாதவாக்கச் சொல், விட்டும்விடாதவாக்கச்சொல். ஆக்கஞ்செப்பல், v. noun. One of the ten அவத்தை--talking much of a loved one. ஆக்கப்பெயர், s. Nouns or names given at pleasure, arbitrary signs differing slightly from the pure, இடுகுறிப்பெயர். It is of two kinds; viz.: 1. இடுகுறியாக்கப் பெயர்; as முட்டை, though already an arbitrary sign to denote an egg has yet the signification of Subramanian, as a name given to him subsequently by பொய்யாமொழிப்புலவர், at his own request. 2. காரணவாக்கப்பெயர்; as மலைமகண்மகன், the son of Parvati--the above Subramanian himself. ஆக்கப்பொருள், s. A meaning given to a word or phrase not originally and directly belonging to it, ஆகுபெயர்ப் பொருள். ஆக்கவினைக்குறிப்பு, s. A verb indicating a natural change of state or quality, ஓர்குறிப்புவினை, as இவன் நல்லவனாயிருக் கிறான். 22) *

ārāy (p. 41) கிறேன், ந்தேன், வேன், ஆ ராய, v. a. To investigate, scrutinize, examine, inquire, deliberate, contemplate, explore, சோதிக்க. 2. To seek, seek for, தேட; [ex ஆர், et ஆய்.] கண்டாராய்மனமே. Consider well, O my soul. ஆராய்ந்துபார்க்க, inf. To examine well, search into, inquire after. ஆராய்ச்சி, v. noun. Search, examination, investigation, deliberation, சோத னை. 2. [pers. noun.] [prov.] A sheriff or bailiff, one who has the command of the inferior officers in a court or office, a superintendent, தலையாரி. ஆராய்ச்சி--ஆராய்ச்சிமணி, s. A bell attached to a royal palace, rung by those who seek for justice from the king. ஆராய்வு, v. noun. Search, examination, investigation. 2. Extensive acquaintance with science and general knowledge, நுண்ணறிவு. 21)

ārccaṉam (p. 41) --ஆர்ச்சனை--ஆர்ச்சி தம், s. Acquisition, accumulation, சம்பாத் தியம். அர்த்தார்ச்சனை--திரவியார்ச்சனை, s. Acquisition of wealth. பிதிரார்ச்சனை, s. Patrimony. ஆர்ச்சிக்க, inf. To acquire, accumulate, சம்பாதிக்க. 61)

iṇkkm (p. 45) s. Agreement, union, congeniality, conformity, congruity, conjunction, connection, friendship, familiarity, acquiescence, acceptableness, உடன் பாடு. 2. Fitness, suitableness, acceptableness, பொருத்தம். 3. Adjustment, correction, amendment, திருத்தம். இணக்கமறிந்திணங்கு. Make friendship with the worthy. நல்லிணக்கமல்லதல்லற்படுத்தும். Alliance with the unworthy will cause mutual pain. இணக்கப்படுத்த, inf. To bring about a reconciliation between two parties. இணக்கம்பேச, inf. To try to reconcile two parties. இணக்கோலை, s. A deed of cession, agreement, reconciliation, உடம்படி க்கைப்பத்திரம். 126)

iṇngku (p. 45) கிறேன், இணங்கினேன், வேன், இணங்க, v. n. To agree, consent, yield, comply with, to be reconciled; to acquiesce in, be agreeable to, &c., உடன்பட. அதற்கவனிணங்கவில்லை. He has not acquiesced in, or been satisfied with it. இணங்கலர்--இணங்கார், s. Enemies, பகைவர். இணங்கி, s. A lady's female friend or companion, தோழி. 130)
