ōṭu (p. 84) s. The shell of an animal, ஆ மைமுதலியவற்றினோடு. 2. The shell of a nut, a pod, an egg, வித்துமுதலியவற்றினோடு. 3. A tile, தட்டோடு. 4. A piece of broken earthen ware, உடைந்தபானையோடு. 5. A skull, மண்டையோடு. 6. A mendicant's vessel for receiving alms, being commonly a shell or sherd, இரப்போர்கலம். 7. (fig.) Length, extension, நீளம். கேடுகாலத்துக்கு ஓடுகப்பறை. In time of distress a sherd may serve for an eating vessel; i. e. in time of need any thing will do. ஓடன், s. A tortoise, ஆமை. (M. Dic.) ஓடுபரப்ப--ஓடுமூட--ஓடுவேய, inf.
