Transposing the lines of a verse without destroying the sense, அடிமாற்றுகை. 2. A verse so formed, ஓர்பா, as, அங்கண்மதியமரவின்வாய்ப்பட்டென்ப, பூசல்வாயாப்புலம்புமனைகலங்கி. அடிமறிமண்டிலவாசிரியப்பா, s. One of the four kinds of ஆசிரியம், the lines of which are interchangeable at pleasure, the meaning remaining the same, ஓர்வகையாசிரியப்பா. அடிமறிமாற்றுப்பொருள்கோள், s. Construction in which the lines of a stanza are interchangeable, the harmony and meaning remaining the same, or the harmony only slightly affected. One of the forty-three kinds of rhyme in which each line begins with the same letter, ஓர் வகை மோனைத்தொடை. அடியடியாக, adv. [prov.] In succession, as the descent of title, &c., தலைமுறை தலைமுறையாக. அடியந்தாதி, s. A repetition in verse. See அந்தாதி. அடியளபெடை, s. Prolonging the sounds of long vowels at the beginning of every line, தொடைவிகற்பத்தொன்று. அடியறுக்கி, s. A flat piece of wood by which the potter marks his work and cuts it from the wheel below, மட்கலமறுக்குங்கருவி. அடியனாதி, s. Time immemorial, antiquity, தொன்றுதொட்டுள்ளகாலம். அடியார், s. [sing. அடியான்--அடி யாள்.] Slaves, servants as applied to devotees in reference to their deity, and used by persons of themselves in addressing superiors, to show respect, obedience or submission, தொண்டர். அடியிட, inf. To set on foot, commence an undertaking, a law suit, &c., தொடங்க. 2. To make a beginning in braiding--as the bottom of a basket, the first end of a mat, &c., பாய்முதலியவை முடைதற்கு அடியிட. அடியுரம், s. [prov.] Ancestral property, original stock. 2. To be destroyed utterly, extirpated. அடியோட்டி, s. A triangular instrument with spikes, which, however placed, has one spike upward to pierce the feet of men or cattle; used in war, &c., a caltrop. அடிவயிறு, s. A revolution of Jupiter round the sun; i. e. twelve years. ஒருவினைச்சிலேஷை, [in rhetoric.] A figure in which the verb conveys two different meanings, சிலேஷையணியிலொன் று--as அம்பொற்பணைமுகத்துத் திண்கோட்டணி நாகம்--வம்புற்றவோடைமலர்ந்திலங்க, உம்பர்-நவம்புரியுமாநதியுநாண்மதியுநண்ணத்--தவம்புரி வார்க்கின்பந்தரும். ஒருவேலைக்கிருவேலை, s. kḷi (p. 100) s. Joy, gladness, delight, exhilaration, exultation, mirth, jollity, hilarity, மகிழ்ச்சி. 2. Riot, revelling கள்முதலிய அருந்திக்களிக்கை. 3. Thick pulp, any soft, thick mass --as thick pap, &c., the quality or consistency of a thick paste or glutinous matter, இறுகியபழச்சாறு. 8. A kind of pap of hasty-pudding, குழம்பு. 9. A kind of pottage hard in itself and made with flour, மாவாற்கிண்டியகளி. களிகிண்ட--களிகிளற, inf. To make களி, pap. களிகூர, inf. To rejoice, exult, மகிழ்ச்சிகூர. களிக்காய், s. Pulpy-fruit, களிப் பானகாய். களிநெஞ்சன், s. A jovial, wanton person. களிப்பாக்கு, s. Areca-nut boiled and dried, அவித்தபாக்கு. களிமண், s. Clay, potter's clay. களிமண்ணடைக்கிறதுபோலடைத்துப்போடுகிறான். He takes in, or swallows up as if he had to fill (a pit) with clay; i. e. he is a glutton, a gormand, a gormandizer. களிமண்தரை, s. Clayey soil. களியர், s. Bacchanaliaus, drunkards, கள்ளுண்டுகளிப்போர். களியர்வண்ணம், s. A poem extolling the advantages of high living, dainty food, vinous liquors, &c., an epicurean poem, ஓர்வண்ணம். களியாட்டு, s. Drunken feasts, bacchanalism, revels, உண்டாட்டு. கேழ்வரகுகளி--கம்புக்களி--சோ ளக்களி, s. Pottage prepared with the flour of different grains. 13)

keṭṭi (p. 137) s. (Tel.) Firmness, robustness, strength, உறுதி. 2. Cleverness, expertness, ingenuity, skilfulness, சாமர்த்தியம். 3. Close-fistedness, உலோபகுணம். கெட்டி--கெட்டிதான். Well done, bravo! கெட்டிக்காரன், s. A clever, capable person; a smart, active man, &c. கெட்டிக்காப்பு, s. A braccelet not hollow but solid. கெட்டிச்சரீரம், s. A robust body. கெட்டித்தனம், s. Cleverness, dexterity, capableness. 2. (litle used.) Parsimony, close-fistedness. கெட்டிபண்ண, inf. To make firm, to harden. 2. To sublimate. 3. To strengthen medicines, liquors, &c. 4. To transact an affair, or conclude a business advantageously. கெட்டிபத்திரம், adv. Very secure, under lock and key, &c. 2. [as an order.] Be very careful, take great care. கெட்டிப்பாகு, s. Thick syrup. கெட்டியாய்ச்சோதிக்க, inf. To search or examine strictly. கெட்டியாயுச்சரிக்க, inf. To articulate distinctly, to pronounce correctly and loudly; to enunciate with proper inflection, emphasis and modulation. கெட்டியானவேலை, s. Skilful, nice work; nice workmanship. கெட்டி, க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. a. To harden, strengthen; to make firm or compact--as by ramming the load of a gun, உரமாக்க. 12)

kaikkunīrkoḷḷ (p. 140) inf. To wash the hand, modeste for a call of nature, the hand being washed afterward. கைக்குள். Within one's power or influence. 2. Soon, immediately. கைக்குஆளில்லை. There is no body at hand to do the business. கையுங்கணக்குஞ்சரி. The expense is as great as the profit--a disadvantageous or losing concern. 5)
