அள்ளு
aḷḷu (p. 33) கிறேன், அள்ளினேன், வேன், அள்ள, v. a. To take up a handful, lade, bale, take up in the hollow of the hand-as water, sand, grain, &c., கையான்முகக்க. 2. To sweep away as a flood, carry off in large quantities or great numbers as an epidemic, famine, thief, &c., to ravage, plunder, pillage, spoil, devastate, வாரிக் கொள்ள. (c.) அள்ளாதுகுறையாது சொல்லாது பிறவாது. If nothing be taken, nothing will be wanting; if nothing be spoken, nothing will be rumored; i. e. there is no rumor however vague, but has some truth in it. அரிசியள்ளுகிறகாகம்போலே திரிகிறான். He wanders about as greedy (of gain) as the crow is of the rice which it steals. கையையள்ளிப்போட்டது. It has grazed or taken off the skin of my hand (whether a bow, hot iron, or any thing else.) அள்ளிக்கொட்ட, inf. To take up from a quantity and shoot down elsewhere. 2. To give liberally. அள்ளிருள், s. Thick darkness, or darkness so dense that it may be grasped. அள்ளுகொள்ளை, s. Great waste, profusion, extravagance or taking more than what is right, பெருங்கொள்ளை. அள்ளு, v. noun. A handful of grain, &c., given to the man who measures, அளவுகூலித்தானியம். அள்ளெடுக்கிறவன், s. The man who receives the handful of grain for measuring. அள்ளுதல், v. noun. Being narrow, close, நெருங்கல். 2. Taking up a handful of water, rice, grain, &c., getting water in a basket, pot, &c., taking out rice, milk, &c., by a spoon from a cup, &c., அள்ளுகை. 43)
அழி
aẕi (p. 32) கிறேன், ந்தேன், வேன், அழிய, v. n. To decay, degenerate, perish, be corrupted, ruined, wasted, blighted, effaced, obliterated, abolished, demolished, annihilated, கெட. 2. To fail (as a promise), be frustrated as a hope, &c., be refuted, தவற. அழிகரு, s. Abortion, கருவழிவு. அழிகுட்டி, s. A miscarriage, an abortion applied chiefly to brutes--the casting of the young, வயிற்றில்மரித்தது. அழிந்தோரைநிறுத்தல், v. noun. One of the eight constituent parts of virtue, அறத்துறுப்பு. அழிபுண், s. A foul ulcer, ஆறாப் புண். (M. Dic.) அழிமதி, s. Waste, extravagance, malicious intention, கெடுபுத்தி. அழிமுதல், s. Waste of property, as of capital, principal, &c. முதலழிவு. அழிம்பு, s. [vul.] The nin-payment of a debt or the non-restoration of another's property from dishonest motives, புரட்டு. 2. Ruin, devastation, injury, damage, கேடு. என்னுடையமைக்கழிம்புபேசுகிறான். He talks of destroying my property. அழிம்புசெய்ய, inf. To damage a thing. 2. To debauch a woman. அழிம்பன், s. [vul.] A spendthrift, a profligate, ஊதாரி. 2. One who makes excuses for not paying debts, restoring property, &c., புரட்டன். அழியாதபத்தினி, s. A name of D'hurupary, the wife of the Pandu princes. அழியாமுதல், s. Property devoted or entailed in perpetuity to a temple or other charity, நிலையான ஆஸ்தி. 2. God, கடவுள். அழியாமை, neg. v. noun. Incorruption, immortality, imperishableness, கெடாமை. அழிவழக்கு, s. An unjust lawsuit, a groundless prosecution, a frivolous or groundless defence, a lost lawsuit, அநி யாயவழக்கு. கற்பழியாதபெண், s. A pure virgin. அழிகை, v. noun. Destruction, decay, ruin, சிதைவு. அழிவு, v. noun. Decay, injury, ruin, loss, desolation, the act of perishing. கேடு. 2. That which has perished of itself, கெட்டது. 3. Fault, immorality, (in a restricted sense,) deviation from rule, குற்றம். அன்றுகண்டமேனிக்கழிவில்லை. Just the same appearance as before. அழிவின்மை, neg. v. noun. Freedom from decay. அழிவுகாலம், s. The time of a universal deluge and destruction at the end of an age, யுகமுடிவு. கடையழிதல், v. noun. Suffering extremely. நிறையழிதல், v. noun. Being disheartened, dispirited, without hope. 7)

iḷmai (p. 56) s. Youth, tenderness, immatureness, juvenility, infancy, இளமைப்பரு வம். 2. Indiscretion, immaturity of knowledge and intellect, illusion, உன்மத்தம். The opposite to இளமை is முதுமை. இளமையிலேபுண்ணியத்தோடேபழகு. Accustom thyself to virtue from thy youth. இளமையிற்கல். Learn from thy infancy. இளங்கதிர், s. Young ears of corn, பயிரினிளங்கதிர். 2. The early rays of the sun, இளங்கிரணம். 3. The sun early in the morning, உதையாதித்தன். இளங்கலையன், s. A species of paddy that ripens early, ஓர்நெல். இளங்கன்று, s. A young calf, சிறு கன்று. 2. A sapling, மரக்கன்று. இளங்காய், s. Green, unripe fruit, fruit just formed. இளங்கார், s. A kind of paddy which is reaped in the early part of the dark season, கார்நெல். இளங்கால், s. The betel creeper recently planted, வெற்றிலையிளங்கொடி. இளங்காற்று, s. A gentle breeze. இளங்குரல், s. A low, suppressed cry--as at the commencement of a funeral wail, அமர்ந்தகுரல். 2. A shrill, fine voice, சிறுகுரல். (c.) 3. (p.) A young ear of corn, பயிரிளங்கதிர். இளங்கொடி, s. A young creeper, சிறுகொடி. 2. The secundine or afterbirth of a beast, பசுவினஞ்சுக்கொடி. 3. (fig.) A coward, dastard, a poltroon, கோழைமனதுடையோன். 2. A kind, tender-hearted man, இளகின மனதுடையவன். இளநெஞ்சு, s. Timidity, cowardice, pusillanimity, கோழைமனது. 2. A tender mind, இளகியமனது. இளந்தலை, s. Youth, juvenility, இளமைப்பருவம். 2. Being reduced in rank, lowness of circumstances, want of respectability, lightness, எளிமை. ஆளிளந்தலைகண்டுதோணிமிதக்கும். A little boy or girl, a stripling, youth, a young lady, சிறுவன் --சிறுவி. இளமண், s. A sandy soil. இளமண்டை, s. A tender skull, a thin skull, the hair of which early turns grey, the teeth of the person falling out prematurely. இளமத்தியானம், s. Towards mid-day. இளமலர், s. A bud about to burst. இளமழை, s. A light shower of rain, drizzling rain. இளமையோன், s. A youth, a young man. கட்டிளமையோன், s. A very young man--as மழவன். இளமைவழிபாடு--இளவழிபாடு, s. Fickleness, unsteadiness. 2. Elements, rudiments. இளம்பசி, s. Slight hunger--as between meals, easily relieved by light food, or fruit. இளம்பச்சை, s. Light green. இளம்பதம், s. Imperfectness, immaturity, moderateness in state or quality, இளமை. 2. A peculiar quality in medicinal oils derived from immature heat in some cases a defect, in others an excellence, இளம்பாகம். 3. A thin consistency obtained by melting, the first stage of melting, உருகுபதம். 4. The state of sweetmeats, pastries, or other kinds of food imperfectly cooked, வேகாப்பதம். 5. The state of oils or electuaries insufficiently prepared, இலேகியமுதலியவற்றின் பதக்குறைவு. 6. The quality of paddy, &c., imperfectly or moderately dried after boiling, நெல்முதலியவற்றின்காய்ச்சற்கு றைவு. 7. The state of being slightly parched, toasted, &c., வறுபடாப்பொரி. இளம்பயிர், s. Young shoots of corn, corn in a fit state to be transplanted. இளம்பருவம்--இளம்பிராயம், s. Juvenility, youth, early stage of existence. இளம்பறியல், s. That which is plucked when immature--said of cocoanuts. இளம்பாடு, s. Sufferings of nonage, இளமையிற்படும்பாடு. 2. Immaturity, unripeness, imperfection, இளம்பதம். இளம்பிடி, s. A young female elephant, சிறியபெண்யானை. 2. A woman, a lady, பெண்; [ex பிடி, a female elephant whose stately movements a lady is poetically described to resemble in her gait.] இளம்பிள்ளை, s. A young child. இளம்பிள்ளைவாதம், s. A kind of rheumatism to which young persons are subject, a kind of pleurisy. இளம்புல், s. Tender grass newly shot forth, முதிராப்புல். 2. The அறுகு grass. இளவடி, s. Imperfect distillation, இளம்பதத்தில்வடிக்கை. இளவரசு, s. The prince regent who performs the functions of government when the king becomes disabled by age or otherwise, இராசகுமாரன். 2. The heir apparent, பட்டத்துக்குரியபிள்ளை. 3. A king in his minority, குழந்தைப்பருவமுடைய வரசு. (பாரதம்.) இளவல், s. A younger brother, தம் பி. 2. A lad, a youth, இளைஞன். இளவாடை, s. Gentle north wind. இளவாளிப்பு, v. noun. [prov.] Dampness, moisture. இளவுச்சம், s. [in astrology.] The situation of a planet a little before it reaches the meridian, உச்சத்திற்கணிமையா குகை. இளவுறை, s. Incipient or immature curds. இளவெந்நீர், s. Lukewarm water. இளவெயில், s. The early sunshine of the morning; also applied sometimes to the moderated rays of the evening, காலைவெயில். இளவெலும்பு, s. A tender, unhardened bone--as in children, முதிராவெலு ம்பு. இளவெழுத்து, s. An unformed hand-writing, the first writing of a child, படியாவெழுத்து. இளவேனில், s. The milder period of the hot season, including the months of April and May. See பருவகாலம். 6)
உண்
uṇ (p. 59) --உண்ணு, கிறேன், உண்டே ன், உண்பேன் or உண்ணுவேன், உண்ண, v. a. To eat, drink, suck--as a child; to take food, whether solids, liquids or other kinds, to taste, அருந்த. 2. To feed, make a full meal --as a dinner, &c., புசிக்க. 3. To enjoy, suffer, experience, or receive the fruits of actions performed in former births, or in future the actions of the present, அனுபவிக்க. 4. To imbibe, absorb, விழுங்க.--Note. With verbal roots and sometimes with verbal nouns it forms a passive--as அடியுண்ண, to be beaten; அலையுண்ண, to be distressed. உண்டசுற்றமுருகும். Relations or friends who have eaten together will cherish towards each other kindly feelings. உண்டசோற்றுக்கிரண்டகம்பண்ணப்படாது. One ought not to be ungrateful to his benefactor. உண்டார்மேனிகண்டாற்றெரியும். A person's diet may be known by his appearance. உண்ணக்கைசலிக்க. To be so delicate as to tire by eating--as a dainty child, &c. 2. To be wearied, cloyed, sated, &c. by too profuse a supply of food. உய்யாவினைப்பயனுண்ணுங்காலை. While experiencing the inevitable fruits of former births. உண்கலம், s. A plate or dish to cat from, a porringer, commonly brass, தாலம். உண்டாட்டு, s. Play of females, மகளிர்விளையாட்டு. 2. Play, sport, விளையாட்டு. 3. Festivity, drinking, joviality, மதுவுண் டாடுகை. உண்ணி, s. An appellative termination often contracted to உணி--as தூக்குணி, &c., one who eats, an eater. உண்ணீர், s. Water to drink. உண்பிக்க, inf. To cause to eat, drink, &c., feed one, உண்ணுவிக்க. தூக்குணி, s. One so vile and daring as not to fear hanging. 2. A malefactor who is hanged. 3. One who hangs about to get food. அழுகுணி, s. One who is always weeping; also one who is disposed to weep. அடியுணி--குட்டுணி, s. One who is beaten. குத்துணி, s. One who is stabbed. 2. A dastard, mean spirited person. இரப்புணி, s. A beggar, one who eats what he begs. அடையுணி, s. One dependent for food. கட்டுண்ண, inf. To be tied up. வெட்டுண்ண, inf. To be cut down. தடையுண்ண, inf. To be hindered. மையுண்கண்ணி, s. A woman with painted eyes, (lit.) she whose eyes have absorbed paint. முலையுண்ணுங்குழந்தை, s. An infant at the breast. நீலுண்டுகிலிலை. The pencil which has imbibed blue paint. (நன்னூலுரை.) கள்ளுண்ணி, s. A drunkard. தள்ளுண்ண, inf. To be rejected. வீண்சோறுண்ணி, s. A rice consumer, a worthless person. உண்டல். A past verbal form of உண்ணல், eating. 119)
உரோசம்
urōcm (p. 65) s. A high sense of honor, keen sensibility, quick perception of an indignity, delicacy, jealousy, மானம். (c.) ஆசைக்குரோசமில்லை. Lust (or intense desire) knows no shame. உரோசங்கெட்டவன், s. A man destitute of spirit, honor, a dastard, a poltroon, மானவீனன். உரோசநாகரீகமில்லாதவன், s. One without honor or credit. உரோசப்பட, inf. To feel a sense of honor, delicacy. உரோசப்படுத்த, inf. To hurt another's feelings, to excite shame. உரோசிக்க, inf. To exhibit feelings of shame, honor, sensibility, delicacy, நாண. 2. உழக்கு
uẕkku (p. 67) கிறேன், உழக்கினேன், வே ன், உழக்க, v. n. To fence, சிலம்பம்பழக. (p.) 2. v. a. To trample, tread upon, mash, injure, devastate or destroy by treading, &c., மிதிக்க. 3. (p.) To disturb, foul, stir up with the feet, கலக்க. செங்கண்மேதிகரும்புழக்கி. The red-eyed buffalo having trampled on the sugarcane-- (காரி.) சமரிலுழக்கினாலல்லது. ஊர்
ūr (p. 70) s. A country, a village, town, or city, புரம். ஊரறிந்தபார்ப்பான். A brahman who knows the whole country or town; i. e. a person competent for business. ஊருடன்கூடிவாழ். Prosper in the society of your fellow citizens. ஊரோடேபோய்ச்சேர்ந்தான். He arrived at home. ஊரன், s. The chief of an agricultural district, மருதத்தலைவன். (p.) ஊரவர்கள்--ஊரார், s. Inhabitants of a village, town, country, &c. 2. Others, strangers, not one's own people, அன்னியர்.--Used adjectively, the ர் is often dropped--as ஊராகாரியம், others' affairs; ஊராசொத்து, others' property; ஊ ராகாணி, others' land. ஊராருடைமைக்குப்பேராசைகொள்ளுதல்..... Coveting other men's property-துஷ்டப்பிள்ளைக்குஊரார்புத்திசொல்லுவார்கள்... An unruly child will be chastized by the magistrates. ஊரார்கையிற்கொடுக்க, inf. To deliver into another man's hand. ஊராளி, s. The ruler, magistrate, or headman of a district, ஊரதிகாரி. ஊரிலிகம்பலை, s. [prop. ஊர்கலி கம்பலை.] A village quarrel, tumult, &c. ஊரின்னிசை, s. A poem concerning the heroes of a town, or country, ஓர்பிரபந்தம். See பிரபந்தம். ஊருக்குப்போக, inf. To go to a town, to go on a journey. ஊருணி, s. A public tank accessible to all in the town, ஊரடுத்தகுளம். ஊருணிநீர்நிறைந்தற்றேயுலகவாம்பேரறிவாளன் றிரு. The wealth of one possessing great wisdom, and who is much liked by the public is like a tank filled with water to which all have access. ஊரெழுச்சி, s. Rising of citizens to present complaints to the authorities; also insurrection, ஊர்க்கலகம். ஊர்கூடுதல், v. noun. Assembling --as citizens. ஊர்கூடிச்செக்குத்தள்ளவேண்டுமா? Is it necessary that the whole city come together to turn the oilman's press? i. e. a trifling matter does not require a concourse of people. ஊர்கோலம்வர--ஊர்வலம்வர, inf. To pass about as a nuptial procession, first to the right as being auspicious, கிராமப்பிரதட்சணம்வர. ஊர்க்கதை, s. Rumor, countrytalk, ஊர்ப்பேச்சு. 2. Unfounded reports, slander, defamation, பொய்ச்செய்தி. 3. A wild, romantic story, வீண்செய்தி. ஊர்க்கலகம், s. A village quarrel, ஊரிலுண்டாகுங்கலகம். 2. A general insurrection, இராசதுரோகமானகலகம். ஊர்க்காறுபாறு, s. The affairs of a place, public affairs, ஊர்க்காரியம். 2. Management of public affairs, ஊர்விசாரிப்பு. 3. Meddling with other's affairs, அன்னி யருடையகாரியவிசாரிப்பு. ஊர்க்குருவி, s. A sparrow, அ டைக்கலக்குருவி. உயரப்பறந்தாலுமூர்க்குருவிபருந்தாமா? Though a sparrow soars high, will it become a kite? ஊர்க்கொள்ளை, s. Devastation by an invading army. 2. Extortion by a headman, &c. 3. Epidemic, or other public calamities, ஊழிநோய். ஊர்த்தலைமை, s. Headship over the district. 2. A chief or superior person in a district. 3. The headman of a district. ஊர்நேரிசை, s. A poem in the நேரிசைவெண்பா incorporated with the name of the hero's town, ஓர்பிரபந்தம். ஊர்ப்பகை, s. Public hatred, general dislike. 2. Hatred of one's own country. ஊருடன்பகைக்கில்வேருடன்கெடும். One who lives contentiously with his fellow citizens shall be rooted out. (ஔவை.) ஊர்ப்பழி, s. Public censure, or blame, ஊர்நிந்தை. ஊர்ப்பாடு, s. Others' affairs-spoken of one inattentive to his own, அன்னியருடையகாரியம். ஊர்ப்புகைச்சல், s. The appearance of smoke at a distance--regarded as a calamitous omen. 2. Countrytalk, rumor, groundless report. ஊர்ப்புரட்டு, s. A great conspiracy, a monstrous fabrication of falsehood, in which one leads and takes others with him. 2. A gross falsehood. ஊர்ப்புரளி, s. Sedition, insurrection, a general commotion, ஊர்க்கலகம். ஊர்மனை, s. Habitations, a place inhabited as distinguished from a desert. ஊர்மன்று, s. A public hall, ஊரம் பலம். ஊர்வெண்பா, s. krai (p. 96) s. The natural bank, or shore of a sea, river, tank, &c., கடல்முதலியவற்றின் கரை. 2. Border, extremity of a field, &c., வயல்வரம்பு. 3. Border, edge of a cloth, &c., சீலையின்விளிம்பு. 4. Boundary, limit, எல்லை. (தத். 1.) 5. End, முடிவு. 6. (p.) Word, speech, வார்த்தை. கரைகடக்க, inf. To overflow its bank--used of a tank or river. கரைகட்ட, inf. To make a bank. 2. To make the selvedge of cloth. கரைகட்டுப்பட்டாடை, s. A silk cloths for women with colored borders. கரைகாண, inf. To see the end, to reach the destined port. 2. To understand a book, science, &c., thoroughly. கரைகண்டவன், s. One who is skilled in business. கரைகாணாதது, appel. noun. That which is inexplorable, incomprehensible, unascertainable. கரைகாணாப்பேரொளி, s. The infinitely great light; i. e. God. கரைக்கல்லோலம், s. The sponge, கடற்பாசி. கரைக்காற்று, s. Breeze on the sea-shore, long-shore wind. கரைக்கேற்றபங்கு--கரைக்கேற்ற வீதம்--கரைக்கொத்தவிழுக்காடு, s. Land apportioned to the respective householders in a village. கரைதுறை, s. A landing place. 2. The end, முடிவு. கரைதுறைகாவற்காரன், s. A tidewaiter. 2. A master attendant. கரைபட, inf. To be divided by lots. (Besch.) கரைபிடிக்க, inf. To arrive at a port, &c., கரையடைய. கரைபிடித்தோட, inf. To sail coastwise. கரைபுரள, inf. To overflow, as a river. கரைபோட, inf. To cast lots. 2. To divide land. 3. To erect a bank to a tank. கரைப்பட, inf. To get to shore-as a vessel, to make the store. ஆற்றுக்கக்கரைப்பட்டுவிட்டார்கள். They have gone to the other side of the river. கரைப்படுத்த, inf. To convey to the shore. 2. To land one on the shores of bliss--the office of a Guru or spiritual guide. கரைப்பாதை--கரைவழி, s. Journeying by land, land travel. கரைப்போக்கு, s. The sea-coast, கரையோரம், 2. A way by land, கரைவழி. 3. [vul.] A bastard gem, போலிமணி. 4. vul. Any thing base or inferior, இழி வானது. கரைப்்போக்குக்கல்--கரைப்போக் குப்பொடி, s. A bastard gem found in alluvial soil. கரைப்போக்குமனிதன், s. The same as அநுலோமன். கரையடுக்க, inf. To get near the shore, கரையைக்கிட்ட. 2. To become near --as the shore, கரைகிட்ட. கரையார், s. A respectable caste of fishermen, வலைஞர். கரையாளன், s. One of the proprietors of a village. கரையிட, inf. To assign portions of land to be cultivated. கரையேற--கரைசேர, inf. To get ashore, to land, to be landed, கரையைய டைய. 2. To be rescued from the sea of transmigrations, to be saved, நற்கதியடை ய. 3. To attain an object of desire, விரும்பியதடைய. 4. To rise from distress, sickness, indigent circumstances, &c., to be re-established in life, to become thrifty after poverty, or embarrassment, வருத்தத்தினின்றுநீங்க. 5. To get well married--as a poor girl, வாழ்வடைய. கரையேற்ற, inf. To save, rescue, restore, redeem, கதியிற் சேர்க்க. 2. To raise one from indigence, reinstate, or reestablish one in good circumstances, துன் பத்தினின்றுநீக்க. 3. To emancipate from births, பிறவியொழிக்க. 4. To marry and settle a destitute girl,விவாகம்பெறச்செய்ய. கரையேற்றம், v. noun Salvation, rescue, deliverance, either from temporal, or eternal evils, தியடைகை. 2. Attainment of a desired good, விரும்பியதடை கை. 3. Establishment in, or a restoration, to prosperous circumstances after poverty, துன்பத்தினின்றுநீங்குகை. 4. The marriage of a destitute girl, விவாகப்பேற டைகை. 5. The final deliverance of the soul, பிறவியொழிகை. ஒருகாலத்திலுங்கரையேற்றமில்லாதநரகத்திற்கி டப்பான். He will lie in hell from which there is no possibility of escape. கரையோரம், s. Coast, brink, edge of the shore or bank. கரையோரத்திலேபோக, inf. To go along shore. கரைவலை, s. [prov.] A drag-net, a draw-net. கரைவலைக்காரர், s. Persons who fish with the drag-net. கரைவலைத்தோணி, s. A dhoney for fishing with a drag-net. கரைவலையிழுக்க, inf. To drag a net in fishing. கரைவழி, s. A road along the shore. கரைவழித்தீர்வை, s. Land custom. கரைவழித்தீர்வைச்சாவடி, s. Land custom house. கரைவாடை, s. North-west wind. கரைவீதம், s. The same as கரைக் கேற்றபங்கு. செய்கரை, s. kḷḷm (p. 101) s. Guile, treachery, deception, imposition, dissimulation, insidiousness, roguery, villany, knavery, turpitude, spuriousness, counterfeitness, perfidy, depravity, வஞ்சகம். 2. Stealing, robbery, fraud, embezzlement, shuffling, tricking, cheating, circumvention, intrigue, களவு. 3. Lying, falsehood, பொய். 4. Fault, crime, guilt, defect, blemish, குற்றம். 5. Morbid matter concealed in a boil, or lodged in the system and causing irritation, புண்ணினுட் கள்ளம். 6. Unlawful, illicit acts, slyness, trickishness, sinister views, under-hand way of doing things, covert, கபடம். கள்ளவெயிலுங்கள்ளமழையும். Alternate rain and sun-shine when neither can be relied on. கள்ளஒப்பம், s. A forged signature. கள்ளக்கடை, s. A shop or bazaar for the reception of stolen goods. கள்ளக்கப்பல், s. A piratical vessel, திருட்டுக்கப்பல். கள்ளக்கப்பற்காரன், s. A pirate. கள்ளக்கயிறு, s. A kind of double string for opening and closing a book or purse. கள்ளக்கவறு, s. False dice, கள்ளச் சூதாடுகருவி. கள்ளக்கவி, s. Flagrant plagiary, சோரகவி. கள்ளக்காசு--கள்ளநாணயம்--கள் ளப்பணம், s. Base or counterfeit coin, செல்லாக்காசு. கள்ளக்காய்பட, inf. To fail as fruits in the process of ripening by smoke. கள்ளக்கிடை, v. noun. Lying deceptively, shamming sickness, sleep, or death, வஞ்சனையாகப்படுத்திருக்கை. கள்ளக்குணம், s. A false, insidious, deceptive disposition, திருட்டுக்குணம். 2. Insidiousness in boils, diseases, &c., deceptiveness, changeableness in weather, wind, the sea, &c., கள்ளத்தோற்றம். 3. Tricks, vices, &c., in beasts, கபட்டுக் குணம். கள்ளக்கையெழுத்து, s. A false signature, a forgery. கள்ளச்சத்தியம், s. A false oath, perjury. கள்ளச்சரக்கு, s. Smuggled or contraband goods. கள்ளச்சாதி, s. The Kallar tribe, a caste in South India. கள்ளச்சி, s. [prop. கள்ளி.] A female thief, திருடி. கள்ளச்சீட்டு, s. A forged bond, note, draught, &c. கள்ளச்சொல், s. Lie, falsehood, பொய். 2. Pretence, pretext, திருட்டுப் பேச்சு. கள்ளஞானம், s. Hypocrisy, in religion. கள்ளஞ்செய்ய, inf. To commit fraud, to embezzle, களவுசெய்ய. கள்ளத்தனம், s. Cunning, craftiness. கள்ளத்திறவுகோல், s. A false key, a picklock. கள்ளத்தீன், s. Sweet-meat, cakes, &c., eaten by stealth instead of regular food, திருட்டுணவு. கள்ளத்துறை, s. Ports where exports and imports are prohibited, ஆயத் துறைக்குமாறாயதுறை. கள்ளத்தோணி, s. A kind of dhoney, sailing to different places from Point Calimere, &c.; this species of boat is so called because formerly employed in robbing the pearl banks. கள்ளநடத்தை, s. Illicit intercourse of the sexes. கள்ளநீர், s. Morbid humor in the body preventing the healing of ulcers, &c., புண்ணில்வடியுநீர். கள்ளநேரம், s. Irregular seasons for doing things, seasons for illicit acts when detection may not occur. 2. A little before daylight, தூங்குநேரம். கள்ளப்பசி, s. Deceptive feelings of hunger. கள்ளப்பாடம், s. Lessons omitted, slipped over, &c., being unlearnt, deceiving the master. கள்ளப்பார்வை, v. noun. Thievish, designing looks. 2. Sly looks of lovers, or libidinous persons, அன்பினானோக்குநோக் கம். கள்ளப்பிள்ளை, s. An illegitimate child, a bastard, சோரத்திற்பெற்றபிள்ளை. கள்ளப்புணர்ச்சி, s. Illicit intercourse of the sexes. கள்ளப்புத்தி, s. Deceitful sagacity, cunning. கள்ளப்புருஷன், s. A paramour, a gallant, சோரநாயகன். கள்ளப்பெண்சாதி--கள்ளஸ்திரி, s. A concubine. கள்ளப்பேச்சு, s. Insincere expressions, false assurances. கள்ளமயிர், s. False hair. கள்ளமயிர்த்தொப்பி, s. A wig. கள்ளமனம், s. Deceitful mind. கள்ளமாடு, s. Cattle that intrude and graze by stealth, a cow or bullock prone to stray, or to be mischievous, திரு ட்டுமாடு. 2. An ox that refuses to work, கரவுள்ளமாடு. 3. Stolen cattle, திருடினமாடு. கள்ளமார்க்கம், s. False religion. 2. A sally port. கள்ளமுத்திரை, s. A false stamp, திருட்டுமுத்திரை. கள்ளம்பண்ண, inf. To be idle in work, to be dull, slow, &c.--as a beast in the absence of the whip. 2. To play truant. 3. To work deceptively, to use alloy, cheat, act the rogue, dissemble, sham, pretend. கள்ளவறை, s. A concealed room which no one would suspect, பிறர்காணக் கூடாதஅறை. கள்ளவாசாரம், s. Mock modesty, feigned politeness, திருட்டாசாரம். கள்ளவாயில், s. A trap-door, கள் ளவழி. கள்ளவொழுக்கம், s. Hypocrisy, dissimulation, திருட்டுநடத்தை. கள்ளன், s. (plu. கள்ளர், fem. கள் ளி.) Thief, robber, rogue, vagabond, villain, knave, criminal, felon, depredator, திருடன். 2. One of the Kallar tribe, கள்ளச்சாதியான். கள்ளர்பற்று, s. The district of the Kallars. வேசிக்கள்ளர், s. Whore-mongers. ஆசாரக்கள்ளர், s. Persons insincere, incomplaisant. 2. Hypocrites in religion. திருநீறுகுழைக்குங்கள்ளர். Those who put on appearances of piety. கும்பிடுகள்ளர்--தொழுகள்ளர், s. Hypocrites, those insincere in religion, or in courtesy. அழுகள்ளர், s. Durga--as the goddess of war and victory, துர்க்கை. கொற்றி, s. Durga, the goddess of war--as கொற்றவை. 2. The goddess, காடு காள். கொற்றியாருக்குப்படைத்தல், v. noun. An epidemic, a pestilence, a plague, பெருவாரி நோய்; [ex கொள்.] கொள்ளைக்கடிக்கப்போனேன். [prov.] I have been working without pay, for that bad man--spoken as an imprecation. கொள்ளைக்கும்ஊழிக்குந்தப்பு. Flee from devastating armies, and from epidemics. கொள்ளைக்குப்போனாலுங் கூட்டாகாது. One who intends to pillage, should not associate with others. கொள்ளாகொள்ளை, s. [prov.] Great abundance, plenty. கொள்ளைகொடுக்க, inf. To be plundered. 2. To allow plunder--as a general to his troops. கொள்ளைகொள்ள, inf. To plunder, to ravage, to spoil. 2. To usurp, to monopolize. 2. (p.) To engross the mind, affections, desires, &c. கொள்ளைக்காய்ச்சல், s. Epidemic fever. கொள்ளைக்காரர், s. Plunders, murderers. கொள்ளைநோய், s. As கொள்ளை. 3. கொள்ளைபோக--கொள்ளையாய்ப்போக, inf. To be plundered. கொள்ளையடிக்க--கொள்ளையாட--கொ ள்ளையிட--கொள்ளையெடுக்க, inf. To rob, plunder, sack, pillage, devastate. 2.
