vḷai (p. 379) கிறேன், ந்தேன், வேன், வளைய, v. n. To bend, கோண. 2. To become crooked, கூன. 3. To be twisted, மடங்க. 4. v. a. To besiege, to hover round, to surround, கோல; [from Sa. Vala.] பட்டணத்தைவளைந்துகொண்டார்கள். They besieged the city. உடம்புவளைந்துவேலைசெய்கிறது........Working hard, (lit.) bending one's body and working. உடம்புவளையாதவன். A lazy fellow. அதுவளைந்துகொடுக்கிறது. It yields to pressure. வளைதடி, s. A short curved cudgel used in the chase or in battle. வளையக்கொடி, s. [prov.] A kind of torture.
