Beauty, அழகு.--There are different kinds of torches, as இரும்புப்பந் தம், எரிபந்தம், ஏணிப்பந்தம், காடபந்தம், which See in their places; also துணிப்பந்தம், or வண் ணார்பந்தம், a torch made of rags obtained from washermen. பந்தக்காட்சி--பந்தம்பறி, s. A ceremony observed at the close of some Saiva festivals, when the torches are snatched away by the people to represent what the wife of Siva did to him when angry. பந்தங்கட்ட, inf. To make flambeaus. முகத்திலேபந்தங்கட்டிக்கொண்டுநிற்கிறான்..... His face flames with anger. பந்தஞ்செய்ய, inf. To tie, to bind. 2. To bind the soul in bodies, to connect it with matter or births. பந்ததயிலம், s. A kind of medicinal oil, சுடர்த்தயிலம். பந்தமுட்டி, s. Torches arranged so as to represent an elephant. (Beschi.) பந்தமும்வீடும். Bondage and liberation of souls; all creatures being affected by these. (p.) பந்தம்பிடிக்க, inf. To carry torches. பந்தம்போட, inf. To make and light a torch. பந்தவரிசை, s. A course or order of lights in a procession, தீவர்்த்தியின்வரிசை. 2. A play with flambeaus lighted at each end, ஓர்விளையாட்டு. பந்தவிளக்கு, s. A flambeau. பந்தர், s.
