aẕku (p. 31) s. Beauty, comeliness, handsomeness, elegance, propriety, fineness, யௌவனம். (c.) 2. The beauties or graces of language or style, நஙலின்பத்தழகு. These as given in the பாயிரம் of நன்னூல், are ten; viz.: 1. சுருங்கச்சொல்லல், speaking concisely. 2. விளங்கவைத்தல், treating a subject clearly and plainly. 3. நவின்றோர்க் கினிமை, acceptableness to the educated. 4. நன்மொழிபுணர்த்தல், using elegant words, suitable expressions. 5. ஓசையுடைமை, being pleasant to the ear with a good rhythm and cadence. 6. ஆழமுடைத்தாதல், being comprehensive, profound. 7. முறையின்வைப்பு, systematic arrangement, method. 8. உலக மலையாமை, being without obscurity or contrariety. 9. விழுமியதுபயத்தல், giving a good sense, as allegorical, &c. 1. விளங்குதார ணத்ததாகுதல், having common examples of as to be understood by all. 3. One of the eight வனப்பு, in composition, the proper choice of words. (See வனப்பு.) 4. Jaggary, coarse sugar சருக்கரை. (M. Dic.) (p.) அழகன், s. [fem. அழகி.] A handsome man. 2. [Per antonomasia.] The god Vishnu, honorifically, அழகர். அழகர்மலை, s. One of the hundred and eight places sacred to Vishnu. 2. One of the six places sacred to Subramania. அழகாரம், s. Brilliancy of expression, சித்திரமாகப்பேசுகை. 2. Mere, empty compliment, வீண்புகழ்ச்சியாகப்பே சுகை. (p.) அழகுகாட்ட, inf. To display one's beauty, ornaments, make a parade of dress, &c., 2. To make odd gestures, as children, &c., mimic, mock by gestures, கரகஞ்செய்ய. (c.) அழகுத்தேமல், s. A beauty spot. See தேமல். 35)

oẕuku (p. 84) கிறது, ஒழுகினது, ம், ஒழுக, v. n. To flow, நீர்முதலியவோட. 2. To go, pass, walk, செல்ல. 3. To act, behave, maintain a course of conduct, act according to rule, to behave well, நெறிப்படிநடக்க. 4. To be long, நீள. (p.) 5. To leak, drop as water, fall by drops, trickle down, drip, drop through, to be shed, தொளைவழி யாயொழுக. ஒழுகுபொற்கொடிமூக்கு. The nose of the damsel who resembles a beautiful long creeper. (நைட.) ஒழுகொளிவிரிக்குங்கதிர்மணி. The radiant gem which diffuses flowing light. கூற்றமேயில்லத்திருந்தொழுகாப்பெண். But an unfaithful wife is to the household as death. பன்மார்புசேர்ந்தொழுகுவார். Those who habituate themselves to the embraces of many-- (நாலடி.) அதிரசமொழுகுங்கனிகள். Fruits flowing with much honey. குடமொழுகுகிறது. The vessel leaks. ஒழுகிசை, s. A flowing kind of melody in poetry in which nothing discordant occurs, பாவினோசையுளொன்று. ஒழுகிசைச்செப்பல், s. A poem consisting of வெண்சீர்வெண்டளை and இய ற்சீர்வெண்டளை. ஒழுகிசையகவல், s. A kind of அகவல் verse composed of நேரொன்றாசிரிய த்தளை and நிரையொன்றாசிரியத்தளை. ஒழுகுவண்ணம், s. A cadence which flows in an easy and pleasing style, ஓர்சந்தம். ஒழுகல், v. noun. Flowing. 2. Leaking, dropping, a leak. 3. Behavior. 4. Length. 5. Height. ஒழுகலான், appel. n. He who does not conduct himself virtuously (நீதிநெறி.) வாய்நீரொழுகல், v. noun. Drivelling. ஒழுக்கு, v. noun. Leaking, dropping, dripping, ஒழுகுகை. 2. Flowing, flow, நீர்முதலியவோடுகை. 3. The passing of urine in drops. ஒழுக்குக்குவைத்தசட்டிபோல். Like a vessel set to catch the water from a leak-spoken of one supported at the expense and pleasure of another. ஒழுக்குமாற்ற, inf. [prov.] To stop leak. ஒழுக்குவிழ, inf. To drop as water from a leak, to leak. ஒழுக்கெறும்பு, s. A species of large black ants which follow one another in a train. 8)

niṟuttu (p. 277) கிறேன், நிறுத்தினேன், வேன், நிறுத்த, v. a. To set up, raise, erect, plant, நிற்கச்செய்ய. 2. To cause to stand, to stop a person, animal, thing, &c., to arrest progress, தடுக்க. 3. To put off, defer, தாமதப் படுத்த. 4. To put an end to, cause to cease, முடியச்செய்ய. 5. To execute, maintain, பரி பாலிக்க. 6. To effect, accomplish, பலிப்பிக்க. 7. To dismiss, suspend, தள்ளிவைக்க. 8. To make proper pauses, accent, emphasis, cadence, &c., in reading or singing, வாசித் தலிலஇடமறிந்துநிறுத்த. 9. To restore one to better circumstances, to re-establish, reform, சீர்திருத்த. 1. To station, fix, settle, வைக்க. 11. To establish, maintain, support, ஸ்தாபிக்க. 12. To appoint, destine, apportion, நியமிக்க. To fix one in a course of moral actions, establish one in life, நன் னெறியில்நிறுத்த. 14. To settle the mind in contemplations on the deity, மனதைநிறுத்த. 15. To place one in office, reinstate, உத்தி யோகத்தில்வைக்க. 16. To deliver in charge, ஒப்புவிக்க. (c.) நிறுத்திவாசி. Read slower. நிறுத்துஅவன்பேசட்டும். Stop, let him speak. விளக்கைநிறுத்தினான். He put out the lamp. நீதானாஎன்னைஎடுத்துநிறுத்திப்போட்டாய். Have you raised me from poverty? நிறுத்திக்கட்டிப்போட. inf. To stop a business, a course of action, &c. நிறுத்திக்கொள்ள. inf. To put one in employment, to employ one. 2. To bring about or accomplish an object. 3. To suspend. 4. To bring to an end, to discontinue. 5. To make an estimte, form a plan in the mind. நிறுத்திச்சொல்ல--நிறுத்திவாசிக்க. inf. To pronounce distinctly with proper pauses, &c. நிறுத்திப்பிடிக்க, inf. To be rigid, strict, sharp, persisting. 2.
