He is generally represented as a being something between a man and a bird, and considered to be sovereign of the feathered race; he is the son of Kasyapa and Vinata and the younger brother of Aruns, விட்டு ணுவாகனம், Falco pondischerianus. Wils. p. 283. GARUDA. கருடகம்பம், s. A species of lamp used by one of the Vaishnava sects at religious festivals. கருடகேதனன்-கருடக்கொடியோ ன்--கருடத்துவசன், s. kovvai (p. 146) s. [com. for கோவை, which see] A climbing plant noted for its red edible fruit, to which the lips are compared in poetry. கொவ்வைக்காய்ப்பதம்--கொவ்வங்காய் ப்பதம், s. [prov.] A stage in the growth of rice when it is as tender and green as the கொவ்வை fruit. அப்பைக்கொவ்வை, s. As அப்பை. காக்கணங்கொவ்வை, s. As காக்குறட் டை. கொவ்வையங்கனி, s.
