cmāḷi (p. 163) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. n. [vul. also சிமாளி.] To affect cheerfulness, courage, or unconcern; to act so as not to betray shame under discreditable circumstances; to assume confidence, so as to cover incompetency and pass with credit an examination, திடங்கொள்ள. 2. To be patient under trying circumstances, to endure hardship with fortitude, தாங்க. 3. To manage a festival, support a family, &c., with economy, so as to keep up appearances with small means, விருந்துமுதலியன சரிக்கட்டிநடத்த. [from Sa.
