ikẕ (p. 45) --இகழு, கிறேன், இகழ்ந்தே ன், வேன், இகழ, v. a. To contemn, scorn, defame, reproach, revile, disdain, நிந்திக்க. இகழாவிகழ்ச்சி, v. noun. Irony, satire. இகழ்வார், s. Scorners, gain-sayers, revilers, opponents, நிந்திப்பவர். இகழ்ச்சி, v. noun. Dispraise, censure, contumely, defamation, நிந்தை. 2. Meanness, baseness, inferiority, இழிவு. 3. kāṟu (p. 106) கிறேன், காறினேன், வேன், காற, v. a. To hawk, to hawk up phlegm, &c., காறி யுமிழ. 2. v. n. To taste bitter, musty, or rancid--as stale food, காறலாயுருசிக்க. கத்தரிக்காய் காறுகின்றது. The cooked brinjal tastes bitter. காறித்துப்ப--காறிப்போட--காறியுமிழ, inf. To hawk and spit. எல்லாரும் உன்முகத்திற் காறித்துப்புவார்கள்.... Every body will hawk and spit on your face; i.e. if you act thus, every one will treat you with contumely. காறல், s. A bitter, musty flavor, producing often a tendency to hawk and spit; the bitter taste of stale food; rancidity, காறுகிறருசி. 2. To form or contemplate a mental image of the deity, கடவுளுருவைத்தி யானிக்க-- The compounds in common use are கனமாகப்பாவிக்க, to treat one honorably; நீசமாகப்பாவிக்க, to treat one contumeliously; சுகமாகப்பாவிக்க, to fancy one's self well, when sick; உண்டுபாவிக்க, to confirm a lie; கண்டு பாவிக்க, to imitate; and form an image in the mind. கானமயிலாடக்கண்டிருந்தவான்கோழிதானுமதுவாகப் பாவிக்கும்.
