A river in Northern India sacred to the manes,ஓர்நதி. பிதிர்தேவர், s. [sing. பிதிர்தேவதை.] Three deified Beings, residing in the world of Yama; they receive the souls of the departed and are honored by certain rites, தென்புலத்தார். பிதிர்தேவதைகள்--பிதிர்தேவர்கள், s. [pl.] As பிதிர்தேவர். பிதிர்த்துரோகம், s. Patricide; heinous sin against father, mother or other progenitor, as neglect to perform obsequies. பிதிர்நாள்--பிதிர்தினம், s. mayam (p. 344) s. A camel, ஒட்டை. W. p. 644. MAYA. 2. Beauty, in reference only to the works of மயன், a daitya, அழகு. 3. A Sanscrit affix expressing nature, quality, possession, property, manner or likeness--as தேசோமயம், splendor; சொர்னமயம், of a golden quality; விஷ்ணுமயம்; belonging to Vishnu; கோமயம்; cow's dung; அன்னமயம்; property of food; அவன்மயம், as he is, in like manner. In some instances, as in அக்கினிமயம், புகைம யம், it implies excess. 4. One of the thirtytwo systems of architecture. See சிற்பநூல். தேசம்அவன்மயமாயிருக்கிறது.
