uṟuppu (p. 68) s. A limb, or member of the body, parts, features, அவயவம். 2. Body, உடல். 3. Part (of a whole) component part, member, subdivision, department, section, பங்கு. 4. Just proportion, symmetry, அங்கலட்சணம். 5. Abundance, மிகுதி. 6. Bough, மரக்கொம்பு. 7. Closeness, narrowness, நெருக்கம். 8. A copy of single letters set for a child to imitate, மேல்வரிச்ச ட்டம். 9. Title deed, registry, &c. of land, காணியாட்சிப்பத்திரம். அந்தக்காணிக்கோருறுப்புமில்லை. There is no security, title, &c. for that land. உறுப்படக்கி, s. A tortoise, a turtle --from the contraction of its limbs, ஆமை; [ex உறுப்பு, et அடக்கி, from அடங்கு contraction.] உறுப்பணங்கெட்டவன். [prop. உ றுப்பினங்கெட்டவன்.] An ill-shaped, maimed, ugly person. 2. (Rott.) உறுப்பினங் கெட்டவன், A foolish, a witless fellow. உறுப்பற்றவன்--உறுப்புக்குறைந்த வன். An ill-formed, or deformed person, அவயவவீனன். 2. An ill-bred person. ஒழுக்கமில்லான். உறுப்பில்பிண்டம், s. The embryo. See எச்சம. உறுப்புக்குறைவிசேடம், s. [in rhetoric.] A species of the figure called விசேடம். உறுப்புத்தோல், s. A species of deer-skin which, according to the shasters, the Brahman should fasten to his sacred cord, நூலிற்கட்டியமான்றோல். உறுப்புநலனழிதல், v. noun. Decaying or withering--as the beauty of a female, on account of the absence of her lover, அங்கத்தழகுகெடுதல். உறுப்புமயக்கம், s. A prodigy, a monster, one whose limbs are redundant, defective, &c. See எச்சம். உறுப்புள்ளவன், s. A vigorous, well-formed man, அங்கலட்சணமுடையவன். 2. A man of enterprising character, qualified for business, திறமையுடையான். 3. A man of good conduct, அறத்துறுப்புடை யான். 4. A man of good manners, ஒழுக்கமுள்ளவன். காணிக்குறுப்புப்பண்ண, inf. To get a title deed passed for land. அகத்துறுப்பு, s. The constituent parts of virtue; they are eight in number. 1. ஐயப்படாமை, Freedom from doubt and uncertainty. 2. விருப்பின்மை, Liberation from the desires of the senses. 3. வெ றுப்பின்மை, Freedom from antipathy, prejudice, &c. 4. Exemption from illusion, confusion of mind, error, ignorance, &c. 5. பழியைநீக்கல், Freedom from evils. 6. அழி ந்தோரைநிறுத்தல், Restoring the ruined or apostate. 7. அறம்விளக்கல், Expounding or elucidating the nature of virtue. 8. பேரன்புடைமை, Great kindness, or benevolence to all sentient creatures. நூலுறுப்பு, s. One of the members or component parts of a treatise. மதிலுறுப்பு, s. The component parts of a fortification. திருவுறுப்பு, s. A jewel worn by bridegrooms upon their foreheads--a sign of the goddess இலக்குமி. செய்யுளுறுப்பு, s. The constituent parts or elements of poetry, as given in காரிகை, they are six, viz.: 1. எழுத்து, Letters forming thirteen classes. 2. அசை, Metrical syllables of two kinds. 3. சீர், Metrical feet of thirty kinds. (See. சீர்.) 4. தளை, Combination of feet one with another, of seven kinds. 5. அடி, Metrical lines determined by the number of feet of which they are composed, five kinds are given. 6. தொடை, Rhyme, forty-three species are enumerated. சீட்டினுறுப்பு, s. The style or different parts of a writ, or deed, &c. 5)

kumpakaṉṉaṉ (p. 123) --கும்பகர்ணன், s. The gigantic brother of Rávan'a, whose ears were like a jar. He is said to have performed austerities to obtain immortality, நித்தியத்துவம்; but, under the evil influence of the supernals, who dreaded his power, he was made to falter in his words and to say, நித்திராத்துவம் (sleepiness), and he was thenceforward given up to sleep. The natural, chemical, chemical, or anatomical parts of a man of other animal; component, original parts, or principles of material existences. இயற்கைக்கூறு. 3. Modification and diversities in the forms of bodies; varied evolutions of primitive matter, விகாரத்தன்மை. 4. Section, division, department, பகுதி. 5. The properties, qualities or nature of a thing; characteristic symptoms of a disease, கூறுபாடு. 6. Effect, result, product, காரணகாரியங்களின் வகை; [ex குறு, to shorten by division, &c.] 7. v. noun. Proclamation, publication, அறிவிக்கை; [ex கூறு to proclaim.] 8. s. Oily grain, எள்ளு. (M. Dic. முழுக்கூறும்வேண்டும். I want it all. கூறிட--கூறுசெய்ய, inf. To cut in two, bisect, subdivide. 2. To set in portions or small quantities. கூறுகூறாக்க, inf. To cut or separate into portions; to apportion. கூறுவைக்க, inf. To set in portions or separate quantities, to distribute and set in small heaps--as a retailer for sale. கூறுகொள்ள, inf. To stuff, cram, press any thing down with a stick, the feet or the hands. குழந்தை மண்ணைக் கூறுகொள்ளுகிறது. The child eats sand. சோற்றைகூறுகொள்ளுகிறான். [prov.] He thrusts rice into his mouth. கூறுபட, inf. To be divided or resolved into its primitive elements. கூறுபடுத்த, inf. To analyze, to distribute. 2. To resolve or reduce bodies into their original parts or primitive elements; to produce the varied transformations of nature. கூறோலை--கூற்றோலை, s. An ola-writing for the division of property among heirs. தைபிற்கூறு, s. The latter part of January. நடுக்கூற்றிலே, In the middle; in the middle part. மாசிமுற்கூறு, s. The first part of February. அக்கினியின்கூறு, s. The effects of heat in the system, &c. 2. Heat, caloric. சரீரக்கூறு, s. The temperament of the body. 2. The component anatomical parts of the body. நேர்கூறு, s. A proper quantity in composition, mixture. &c. மூலக்கூறு, s. The radical parts of a substance. See மூலம். வாயுவின்கூறு, s. The component parts of atmospheric air. 2. vittai (p. 394) s. [St. வித்தியா.] Science, learning, sacred or profane, a branch of learning, கல்வி. W. p. 768. VIDYA. 2. Skill, ingenuity, dexterity, சாமர்த்தியம். 3. Arts displaying skill, சித்திரத்தொழில். 4. Magic, jugglery, காரடவித்தை.--It retains its Sans. pronunciation in most of the compounds. வித்தியாசாலை, s. A college. வித்தியாதத்துவம், s. A department of knowledge, one of the தத்துவத்திரயம். According to the Saivas, it includes; 1. காலம், time; 2. நியதி, fate; 3. கலை, science; 4. வித்தை, arts; 5. இராகம், desire; 6. புரு டன் or ஆன்மா, soul; 7. மாயை, matter. வித்தியாதரர், s. [pl.] Demigods of a certain class. See பதினெண்கணம் under கணம். வித்தியாதரிசிகள், s. Inspectors of schools. வித்தியாதானம், s. Charitable instruction of the ignorant, கல்விகற்பிக்கை. வித்தியாதேகம், s. Embodiment of knowledge. வித்தியாபாரகன், s. One who has studied the arts and sciences. வித்தியாப்பியாசம், s. Practice in science, experimental science, கல்விப்ப யிற்சி. (Beschi.) வித்தியாரம்பம், s. Beginning of knowledge. (ராமா.) வித்தியார்த்தி, s. A scholar, a student, கற்போன். வித்தியாலட்சுமி, s. See அஷ்டலட்சுமி. வித்தியாவந்தன், s. A learned man. வித்தியேசுரர்--வித்தீசுரர், s. [pl.] Lords of learning, learned men, poets, வித்தை யாளர். வித்துவசிரோமணி, s. One trancendently eminent for learning. வித்துவாமிசன்--வித்துவான், s. [pl. வித்துவாமிசர்கள்.வித்துவாங்கிசர்கள்.] A bard, a poet, a learned man, புலவன். 2. (St.) A sage, a theologian. வித்துவானுக்கேதுபரதேசம். The learned man belongs to all countries. வித்தைகள், 14.
