kāvi (p. 105) s. Red-ochre, ஓர்வகைமண், Bole armenic, Bolus. (Mat. Ind.) 2. A reddish colour in garments consequent on frequent dippings in water. 3. (p.) The blue lily, கருங்குவளை.--Note. For குங்குமக்காவி, சந்திர காவி, சீமைக்காவிக்கல், நீர்க்காவி, பூங்காவி, and பற் காவி as different kinds of காவி, see those words. காவிக்கல், s. Reddle, red chalk, ஆ திரவிச்சிலை. காவிதோய்க்க, inf. To dye or tinge with red-ochre. காவிபிடிக்க--காவியேற, inf. To contract a reddish colour, as cloth by daily dipping. காவிபிடித்தபல்--காவிபற்றினபல்--கா விப்பல், s. Teeth colored with black ochre. 2. Teeth stained with betel composition. 3. Soiled teeth. காவிமண், s. Red ochre in powder, or loose earth. காவியேறினவஸ்திரம், s. A cloth made reddish by frequent dipping in water. காவியேற்ற, inf. caṉṉiti (p. 173) s. Presence, nearness, proximity, சமீபம். 2. (c.) The presence of the deity, guru or some great person, திருமுகம். W. p. 891. SANNIDHI. 3. A temple, கோயில். 4. (p.) The holy, உயர்ந்தோன். சன்னிதிப்பட, inf. To attain to the presence of one. பண்டாரசன்னிதி, s. A college, or monastery of Pandarams, of which there are several in different towns in the Tamil district. 2. The chief of the பண் டாரச்சன்னிதி--Note. Into this fraternity, any person of good caste willing to obey the rules of the order, is received and is supported in it, the establishments being richly endowed. One rule of the order is perpetual celibacy. They wear beads; cloths reddened by dipping in red ochre; a kind of pinch-beck-ear ornament, instead of a gold one; entangled locks or unshorn hair. The chief of the order is guru to the rest, and receives homage from them. The members are each called தம்பிரான், Tambiran.

tavaci (p. 227) s. A devotee, a religious mendicant, ascetic, recluse, தவண். தவசிப்பிள்ளை, s. The servant of a guru or a சைவன் in the performance of puja, dipping the apparel worn, cooking. 8) *

To be curdled, as milk by design, உறைய. 9. To commit one's self in speaking, commonly in the negative, அகப்பட்டுக் கொள்ள. 1. v. a. [prov.] To temper heated metal, by dipping it in water, துவைச்சலிட. (c.) நச்செழுத்துத்தோயப்பாடினான். He has tempered his verses with malign letters. தோயாமற்பேச, inf. To speak in ambiguous terms, so as not to commit one's self, or divulge a secret. (c.) தோயப்பம், s. A pan-cake, தோசை. தோயல்--தோய்வு, v. noun. Mixing, கலத்தல். 2. Bathing, dipping, குளித்தல். 3. As துவையல், which see. தோயல்வாய்த்தல், v. noun. tōy (p. 264) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. a. To dip, to immerse, to beat clothes in washing, to curdle milk, to temper steel, &c., as 1, 2, 3, and 4, of துவை, v. which see. 2. To soak, to drench, to steep, நனைக்க. 3. [in combination.] To dye, to tinge, to stain, to imbue, சாயமேற்ற. (c.) தோய்த்தடிக்க, inf. To splash, to bespatter. தோய்த்துக்கட்ட, inf. nīṟu (p. 277) s. (Gem. நீற்றின்.) Ashes, சாம்பல். 2. Sacred ashes made of cow-dung, திருநீறு. 3. Powder, calx, dust, புழுதி. 4. Slaked lime, சுண்ணம். நீறடிக்க, inf. muẕuku (p. 358) கிறேன், முழுகினேன், வேன், மு ழுக, v. n. To bathe the entire body, by dipping or pouring, said especially of a woman's bathing after menstruation, குளிக்க. பாலைவார்த்துத்தலைமுழுகிவிட்டேன்.....I have bathed by pouring milk on my head, i. e. I have lost all my relatives. முழுகிப்போக, inf. To dive in. 2. To be lost. 3. To have menstrual discharge. பணமுழுகிப்போயிற்று. The money is irrecoverably lost. முழுகிப்போகவில்லை--முழுகவில்லை. She did not bathe; i. e. she had no menses. (Beschi.) முழுக்கு, v. noun. Bathing, as தலைமு ழுக்கு, ஸ்நானம். 2. Menses, மாதவிடாய். முழுக்குநின்றுபோயிற்று. Menses stopped. முழுக்காட, inf.
