cuṟṟu (p. 198) கிறேன், சுற்றினேன், வேன், சுற்ற, v. a. To surround, encompass, environ, encircle, envelope, சூழ. 2. To wind about, enwrap, wreathe, பாய்முதலியனசுற்ற. 3. To twine about, சுற்றிப்படர. 4. To dress one's self, invest, to gird, சீலைசுற்ற. 5. (in cant usage.) To circumvent, get by trickery, வஞ்சிக்க. 6. To whirl, twirl, brandish, சுழற்ற. (c.) எல்லாவற்றையுஞ்சுற்றிக்கொண்டுபோய்விட்டான். He has stolen every thing. என்னைவந்துவந்துசுற்றுகிறான். He continues to come around me, (importuning.) காலைச்சுற்றினபாம்புகடியாமல்விடாது. The snake, coiled around one's foot will not leave without biting; i. e. evil contact will bring injury. சுற்றிக்கட்ட, inf. To wind round and tie, to gird; girt. 2. [prov.] To make the curls of a letter in writing. 3. To wrap a cloth, &c. round the head or body. 4. (fig.) To fabricate, form a conspiracy. 5. To bribe. சுற்றிக்கொள்ள, inf. To coil round a thing or person--as a snake. &c. 2. (fig.) To extort money, &c., by stratagem, &c., வஞ்சித்தெடுக்க. சுற்றிப்பிடிக்க, inf. To entangle, 2. To intwine the hand in one's lock of hair. 3. pẕku (p. 302) கிறேன், பழகினேன், வேன், பழக, v. n. To practise, to become initiated, to be used to, to be habituated; to be trained--as the voice in singing or speaking; the hand in working; the feet in walking, பயில. 2. To become acquainted with men or things, to be familiar with, உறவுசெய் ய. 3. To become fitted, tempered, seasoned, as a utensil, tool, or garment, பதப்பட. 4. To become broken or trained, as a beast, a bird, &c.; to be domesticated, சாதுவாக. 5. To be suited to one--as a house, the climate, a servant, இணக்கமாக. 6. To be customary, common, familiar, ஊடாட. (c.) பாம்பொடுபழகேல். Play not with a snake. பழகாதபழக்கம். Bad, improper or indecent habits. பழகினமாடு. A trained ox inured to labor. பழகினமுகம், A well known face. பழகினவன், A familiar friend. 2. One accustomed to many things. பழகினகத்தி. A knife improved by use. பழகினசட்டி A seasoned, or used cooking pot. பழகப்பழகப்பாலும்புளிக்கும். Even milk may seem sour by constant use.
