irākkatar (p. 50) --இராட்சதர், s. One of the two classes of foes to the Devas or genii, sometimes improperly called giants. One who is obliged to do a thing. 2. A debtor. கடன்கட்டு--கடன்வழி, s. Doing a thing for form's sake, not cordially. கடன்கட்டாய்ப்பேச, inf. To speak roughly. கடன்கழிக்க, inf. To perform a duty, to return a kindness, &c., கடமை செய்ய. 2. To perform the last funeral rites for a deceased person, either by fire or water, பிதிர்கருமஞ்செய்ய. 3. To be choked, or stifled in the throat. நெஞ்சடைப்பு--நெஞ்சடைவாதம், s. Obstruction in the chest, ஓர்நோய். நெஞ்சழிதல், v. noun. Failing or being overwhelmed, as the heart with sorrow, or fear. 2. Loss of consciousness, through sorrow, fear, drunkenness, &c. 3. Being overcome with lust; losing self-control. நெஞ்சறிய, inf. [as an adverb.] Consciously. நெஞ்சறியப்பொய்சொல்லலாமோ. Can you knowingly lie? நெஞ்சறிவிளக்கம், s. A treatise. நெஞ்சன், s. [in combin.] A hard-hearted person. See கன்னெஞ்சகன், வன்னெஞ்சகன். 2. [prov.] A bold, daring person, துணி வுடையோன். 3. Is this for your breast log? a curse imprecating death. நெஞ்சாங்குலை--நெஞ்சாங்கொழுந்து, s. The viscera. 2. See குலை. நெஞ்சாங்குழி--நெஞ்சுக்குழி, s. The pit of the throat. நெஞ்சிடித்தல், v. noun. Throbbing of the heart, from fear, &c. நெஞ்சிலேகல்--நெஞ்சிற்கல், s. (fig.) A heavy calamity, பெருந்துக்கம். நெஞ்சிலேகல்லுப்போட்டீர். You have put a stone in my breast, used in lamentation for the dead. நெஞ்சிலேதெண்டல், v. noun. [prov.] Affecting the breast--as wind, spasm, or cramp, நெஞ்சிற்றடுக்க. நெஞ்சிளைக்க, inf. To become fearful, timid, cowardly. நெஞ்சிற்பாரம், s. (fig.) Burden or weight of responsibility oppressing the heart. 2. Sorrow of heart. நெஞ்சுகரிப்பு--நெஞ்சுக்கரிப்பு, v. noun. A nausea in the throat. நெஞ்சுகாய, inf. To become dry, gnawing, &c., as the breast in disease, causing thirst, &c. 2. [prov.] To faint as the heart through sorrow, fear, &c. நெஞ்சுக்கட்டு-நெஞ்சுக்கோழை, s. Pectoral disease from phlegm, as asthma. நெஞ்சுக்குத்து--நெஞ்சுவலி, s. Pain in the chest. நெஞ்சுதட்ட, inf. To tap the breast in defiance, as a challenge. 2. To tap the breast with a boast of doing an exploit. நெஞ்சுதுடித்தல், v. noun. Throbbing of the heart from fear. 2. Sympathizing with one in affliction, பரிதாபப்படல். நெஞ்சுத்தடிமல், s. Catarrh seated in the breast, cold and cough. நெஞ்சுத்துணிகரம்--நெஞ்சுத்துணிவு, s.
