uccu (p. 59) கிறேன், உச்சினேன், வேன், உச்ச, v. a. To pitch at a mark, cast a game with betel nuts, shells, money, &c., கழற்காய்முதலியவையெறிய. 2. [prov.] To conquer in a game or controversy, to win, surpass, get the advantage of by subtilty or artifice, வெல்ல. 3. To superabound or overflow as wealth. பொங்குசனி, s. [in astrol.] The second and most propitious of ஏழரையாண்டுச்சனி. See சனி. பொங்கல், v. noun. Boiling, bubbling; fermentation. 2. Raging as the sea. 3. The festival when the sun enters Capricorn about the 11th of January. See தைப்பொங்கல். (c.) 4. Abundance, excess, profusion, மிகுதி. 5. A cook, one who boils his own rice and lives by himself in a niggardly way. பொங்கலிட--பொங்கல்பொங்க, inf. To boil rice without straining out the water in which it has been boiled. 2. To boil rice for a religious purpose-also பொங்கல்போட. பொங்கல்வரிசை, s.
