pṭṭiṉi (p. 291) s. [vul. பட்டிணி.] Destitution of food, hunger, sometimes from fasting or abstinence, through urgency, or medical prescription, உண்ணாதிருத்தல். (c.) பட்டினிகாத்தல், v. noun. Going without food at a funeral house. பட்டினிகிடக்க, inf. To starve, commonly from necessity; spoken in comtempt. பட்டினிபொறுத்தல், v. noun. [prov.] Suffering hunger. பட்டினிபோடுதல், v. noun.
