nāṟṟm (p. 275) s. An offensive smell, stench, fetidness, putridness, துர்க்கந்தம். (c.) 2. Smell, scent, odor, fragrance, நற்கந்தம். 3. Toddy, கள். 4. (p.) Origin, rise, development, as தோற்றம்; [ex நாறு, v.] அவன்நாற்றமேகிட்டவந்தாலுமாகாது. I adhor him, with the utmost disdain. நாற்றமுமில்லை. Not even a scent of it, of his, &c. நாற்றங்கேட்டால், v. noun. [prov.] Being smelt. or perceived by smell. நாற்றமடிக்க--நாற்றம்வீச--நாற்றமெ டுக்க, inf. To rise and spread as a bad smell. 2. To cast a bad smell as a carcass, &c. நாற்றம்பிடிக்க, inf.
