aḷai (p. 33) கிறேன், ந்தேன், வேன், ய, v. a. To mix up, mingle, macerate as food, paste, &c., with the fingers or hands, கலக்க. 2. (p.) To handle, finger, (as a boil, &c., in applying medicines, &c.,) வருட. 3. To mingle dust as children in play, handle any thing dirty, dirty one's self, பூசிக்கொள்ள. 4. (c.) Nocturnal pollution in sleep, by disease, &c. See ஸ்கலிதம். தாதுபார்க்க, inf. To feel the pulse. தாதுபுஷ்டி--தாதுவிருத்தி, s. A healthy state of the semen. (c.) தாதுமாதளை, s. Tendon, ligament, muscle, nerve, தசைநார். 4. Fibre in some fruits, also between the husk and shell of a cocoanut, நார். 5. Fibre, filament of leaves, tendril of a vine, &c., இலைநரம்பு. 6. [prov.] Tobacco leaf in which the fibres are prominent, ஓர்வகைப்புகையிலை. நரம்பினாதம்--நரம்பினோசை, s. The sound of the string of a musical instrument. நரம்புக்கயிறு, s. Cords sewed into the seams of a sail-cloth. 2. As நரம்பு. 2. நரம்புக்காய், s. A long thin fruit, as that of the முருங்கை. நரம்புச்சிலந்தி, s. [sometimes நரம்புச் சிலந்தி.] A long slender worm between the skin and muscles, guinea worm, ஓர்புண். (c.) 2. Boil on a nerve. நரம்புச்சுளுக்கு, s. Contraction of a ligament, or muscle. A thrifty kind of Indian hemp. பூஞ்சாட்டி, s. See சாட்டி. பூஞ்சாயம், s. Ruddy, dark color. பூஞ்சிட்டு, s. A kind of little bird. See சிட்டு. பூஞ்சுண்ணம், s. Farina of flowers, as பூந்தாது. பூஞ்சிறகு, s. Down of young birds. பூத்தட்டுதல், v. noun. Reducing melted wax to flakes by pouring it into water, in the process of whitening it, மெ ழுகைத்தகடாக்கல்.
