There are two states of heat in preparing oils, metals, &.c.: காயும்பதம், slight heat, for boiling the juices of plants; 2. வேல்பதம், full heat for melting gold, silver and other metals. பதக்கேடு, v. noun. Past the right stage, over-ripe, over-boiled, decayed, rotten. பதக்கேடானசரீரம். Debility of the system, often through age. பதத்துக்குக்காய்ச்ச--பதமாகக்காய்ச்ச, inf. [com. பதனி.] Sweet toddy drawn in a pot lined with chunam To prevent fermentation. பதந்தப்ப, inf. To miss or pass the proper stage of boiling rice or medical oil, or in the ripening of fruits. 2. To pass the proper time for doing a thing. எகுபதந்தப்பிப்போயிற்று. The steel is not well tempered. பதபாகம், s. Gentleness, mildness, &c. பதப்பட, inf. A consonant, a bodyletter, to which a vowel gives life. மெய்யென்றிருக்கிறது. Taking for a truth. மெய்வருக்கை, s. The class of consonants. See வருக்கை. மெய்விரதன், s.
